amokrun1
I am using a sound overhaul but there are some sounds where I prefer the vanilla ones. I can get this to work easily enough with some of the sounds by simply deleting the records from the mod directly or by hiding them. However, some keep stubbornly turning up in the game, even though I removed them from the mod. I have been over all directories with a fine toothcomb and cannot find any record that can be the culprit. What am I missing? Where is the game pulling these sound files from? dubiousintent
Mod added sound files are located under the game "Data\Sound" folder. When you install a mod it writes or overwrites files in various sub-folders under there. Your mod manager may or may not remove them when you uninstall the mod, but that is not what you are doing when you try to selectively remove such files. You need to either manually tell your manager which files are to NOT be "overwritten" or find and remove them from the folders where they reside. If you are editing the mod package itself to remove the files, then first uninstall the entire mod (unedited) so it will remove all related files, make your edits to the package, and then install it again. -Dubious- Edited January 2, 2021 by dubiousintent
GamerRick
Just deleting the sound files won't work if the mod altered things to use their custom sound or modified it to use another existing sound. You may also need to edit the ESM/ESP file to remove the things that you want to revert to their vanilla sound.
