Thor.
This is intriguing, what do you think will be in this mysterious rpg.??????  :confused:http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/12/10/next-gen-game-engine-in-action Problem them saying its next gen is funnny concidering that the engines been out for almost 7 years. Cryengine3, Lets hope its not going to be on origin or hosted by EA.I'm betting for next gen consoles though, hopefully be on ps4 or nextbox, i bet both. Edited March 18, 2013 by Thor. JimboUK
Interesting. We might not be impressed with that engine any more but console gamers will be, just look at the way the writer of that IGN article got all overexcited only for the guy to tell him it's running on a two year old laptop GPU. Phalanx108
Cryengine 3 hasn't been out for 7 years...
Thor.
Crysis 1 :whistling: cryengine 3 may be new, but the engine in itself is 7 years old.The concept behind it is, they still could use the original engine and it would still be considered next gen for the average console user. Phalanx108
But Cryengine 3 and Cryengine 2 (as used in Crysis 1) are 2 completely different core engines. It's like saying the Refractor 2 engine and Frostbite 2 are the same... Edited March 19, 2013 by Phalanx108
Thor.
You don't get it, its the 'concept" that remains the same, Icandy...
Phalanx108
Concept ≠ same engine. If the core is different, the engine is different. :\ Edited March 19, 2013 by Phalanx108
Thor.
Whatever engine it may use doesn't matter, it still was considered ahead of its time, laughing at that unreal devs claiming it was the first to use icandy like directx10. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/353832/cryengine-is-three-years-ahead-of-unreal-engine-4-crytek/ this rpg in the making is changing that Edited March 19, 2013 by Thor. Vagrant0
Can't tell much of anything from what is essentially a static environment. No actors, no live lighting, not even very many buildings. Hate to say it, but Skyrim is far more visually complicated than that.
Thor.
Remember that was probably a demo of the environment, they said they had Chickens at one time but they ran away, showing off what awesome chicken ai it must posses :teehee: . Also mentioning how easy it is to paint the building and stuff. I doubt they even have the story or npc thought out yet, it could of been a misrepresentation of the engine of what it can do, and not a rpg at all??  Edited March 19, 2013 by Thor.
