Decontamination Arch

Recommended Posts

I am trying to install a functioning decontamination arch within my player home. I am using DeconArch01 form which comes with the activator script. I added the workshop decon script as well and for the value I chose 'doctor' which was the only option in the drop down box. The arch is linked to a red rocket button. I also linked it to the workbench (: workshopitemkeyword)

When I push the button the arch sprays and when I push the button again, it turns off. Having said that, when I step into the must, I am not getting my radiation value reduced. Obviously I am missing something(s)?

Does anyone know how to properly set up a standard decontamination arch in the Creation kit?

Thank you.

Maybe have a look at how other decon arches in the game are set up?

Like the one in the "HaluciGen" interior cell. That one is functional and removes rads, so it might be a good starting point.

I have never implemented one of those, so I can't really help you, but I would be very careful with what you attach the "workshop script" or "workshop keywords" to!

Doing stuff with that can potentially mess up all of your settlement stuff!

I did look at the HaluciGen decon arches but wasn't wasn't very helpful. I will keep working on it. Thank you for the reply.

Hello vonBennett,

The decon arch by itself won't do anything - it only plays animations when activated, that's it. You need a collision primitive that provides the healing effect, and this should be linked from decon arch via keyword TwoStateCollisionKeyword. The decon arch you'll find in the Institute (close to the fusion reactor room) has this collision primitive with appropriate script.

The best way to do the radiation healing effect itself, however, is by placing the hazard marker used at the entrance of Mechanist's Lair (it uses gradual healing, rather than by blocks). That one is the smoothest.

So I basically copied the decontamination station from the Institute Reactor Room. It works in removing the radiation however, I noticed when you walk under the arches, before you activate them, the radiation disappears. Currently the Radiation Removal Trigger takes away the radiation as soon as you enter the area even though it is linked to one of the arches (which is not yet activated). I do have the arch and the decontamination trigger linked via the TwoStateCollisionKeyword. A minor issue right now but I will look into the decontamination station in the Mechanist's Lair.

Anyway, thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it.
