weltall
Well I am taking a "wild" guess that one of the mods I installed have mixed old and new doors and well.. something went terribly wrong. The two mods I can point out that could have done something like this, from the collection I have, are Better Cities and Origin of the Mage Guild. It is not so bad, afar from bein a bit annoying to find which door goes where, but some of the floating doors are actually the ones that take you to rooms and some placed on the building are dummies. If the door has a name it takes you somewhere and if its "wooden Door" it just does nothing. There is also an NPC trying to enter one of the dummy doors and I am guessing a normal door should be there. Has anyone seen this problem before? Here are some pictures from the outer area of the Arcane University and some from the inner area. Thanks for any help given.
DrakeTheDragon
Better Cities actually does come into mind here, or maybe Origin of the Mages Guild, too (don't know this one, didn't get a chance to try it myself, yet), as there are doors and even store signs but no stores anywhere in those screenshots. However, whereever they're coming from, you must have removed this mod by now, or the stores would still be there, not just their doors. Doors, as well as some other things, are actually stored in your savegame, and they will remain where they are, even if the mod they're coming from was removed. The non-functional doors likely are ones that previously led to some interior cell, which now is no longer existant, as its mod was removed a time ago. Maybe those inactive doors can be removed by leaving the area, waiting for the cell reset (usually 3 ingame days), then coming back... but I'm not sure about this.Better Cities had some scripted means to 'move' changed doors to their appropriate locations ingame, through use of a compatibility dialog popup, either after you installed the mod and revisited a location you've been in before (getting all doors there into their BC locations) or right before uninstalling the mod (getting all doors back to their Vanilla locations) while you can still use its dialog functions. In these cases, where doors have to be moved by scripts, it's doors the mod only put into a new location. Those doors will still exist without the mod. Thus I'm guessing you can get rid of stray orphaned doors from uninstalled mods by simply waiting for the cell reset. But I'm not 100% sure. weltall
They have been there for more than 3 days and not just in game days. They have been there for as long as I can remember playing actually. But there are shops and places added from Better Cities as you can see here. With the exception the Room of Vemons, the rest seem to be in a legitimate position.
Nephenee13
Point RefScope or FormID Finder at them to see which mod is putting them there.
weltall
Always resourceful and helpful Nephenee! Seems its a mix between Better Cities and Origin of the Mages Guild actually. All the extra doors have been added by OotMG but for example the bars in front of two od these doors are added by BC. I am guessing that BC also alters some of the walls, but I find it weird because I have added the compatibility patch of BC for OotMG. I will try to play around with the order BOSS placed them at and see if something works. -Edit-Well it was probably something I have done wrong? Wrong installation order? Then again I used the same order now. I uninstalled both OMG and BC and re-installed them in that order too, and well now I can see everything in the right place. No more floating doors, and I even see more doors now. Thanks as always for the help guys! Have a wonderful day :) P.S. Awesome tool Nephenee. Thanks again for the tip.
