ZIoKo
Hello fellow GECK users. Been monitoring the forums here for quite a while, which gave me some great insight and a base of help for Fallout3 modding, thanks. :thumbsup:After whoring the search function without profitable solutions, i hope that you may be able to help me with this one. I am currently working on an exterior cell, for this i duplicated one of Beths "test" -cells (i needed a flat surface to start with), and made the acording changes. (renaming, climates, regions, weather, etc...)Everything is working fine, ingame and in GECK... except one tiny thing. I placed a cocmarkerheading (and also tried the xmarker counterpart) in my center cell (pos 0,0), made shure its not sticking into the landscape or other geometry.Everytime i use the "coc mycellname" command, it loads my cell and teleports me there, problem is, i spawn in mid air - hight above the ground... which leads to an unpleasend death.(at least i can tell for a few seconds that my stuff is working) I just started on FO3 editing, i got some modding knowledge from a couple of other engines, but FO3 is sort of new to me.Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. deliverance6
very odd, and could well be a random bug. check the following Cells DEFAULT land and water height.XMarkers Z axis Height (double click in referance window)if the problem persists, try typing "TCL" in the console befroe you COC to the cell, meaning you won't fall to you're death
ZIoKo
Thanks for the reply, deliverance6. Im at work ATM, ill try that as soon as im at home again.... of course, noclipping... could've thought of that myself... thanks for the hint. The "bug" also occurs on standart Beth maps, so it could be a general problem, anyways... still going to check the things you pointed out.(also, im not loading any other mods than my map on gamestart) There's another thing i dont want to create an extra thread for.Is it possible to snap objects to the floor automaticly (without pressing F) when drag'n'dropping them in? Its a pain in the a... back to manualy snap every single object to the ground/landscape after positioning... (sometimes they even dont seem to align to the ground correctly)
Skotte
i don't think so, if the ground is sloped it's usually a good idea to manually adjust position & orientation in the render window.
ZIoKo
As stated above, the ground/landscape is actually 100% flat, i was planning on editing the terrain after ive set up the city/town. (you know, like hills, bumps, rubble, etc...)Anyways, thanks for the heads-up Skotte. Another thing (oh, im getting a bit annoying here) how can i rotate models on the other axis(es)?*selfslap*
SpeedyB64
you could enter TGM (God Mode) in the console and have a fun (and faster than TCL) fall to the ground. To rotate on different axes just hold down X,Y or Z while rotating. If your worldspace is large it is easier to fill it with stuff by generating it in the regions window. (you can randomly scatter things of your choice around the region, there are lots of settings)
