[LE] Is it possible to alter the 3rd person camera without editing the skeleton.nif?

I will be forthright and say Iâm the sucker who bought a se copy of Skyrim on pc just so he can make mods for the Xbox version and play them I realise the limitations that comes with I know youâd think itâs my choice and my fault that I chose to stick to that but in truth I just donât have a pc that can play sse in any meaningful way,

last year I had the idea to make a spell the player would use to turn into a normal everyday wolf, I made the texture I wanted, got the mesh ready and found that Bethesda decided since they shouldnât be playable normally the camera should be in an awful place I think underneath the wolf, what I thought was a small hill is actually a canyon that I donât think can be surpassed.

I know of two ways to alter the thing after a bit of research back in February, you can use console commands which as a console player is ironically impossible and you can alter the skeleton nif to do it, this in theory is the best option but unfortunately it was not to be, in order for a mod to

be uploaded to Bethesdaâs xbox server the ck has to have referenced, with a skeleton nif there isnât a way to do this compared to a normal mesh for example which means you can not use skeleton edits on the Xbox as far as I know, no script extensions either,

My long rambling is just to help any potential helpers understand my position, the answer at this point is no I think thatâs obvious but nearly a year on whenever I get the itch to mod it comes to me that I failed at my goal, my direct question is this, can the 3rd person camera be repositioned in any other way? Can what is done by console command be done by script? Is there anything in the ck that could allow this, or is it as I suspect completely out of my realm of possibilityâs.

To any whoâve read this far even those who donât know or cannot help thank you for taking the time to do so, to any who have any ideas no matter how outlandish I wish to hear them.

So, basically:

You bought Skyrim SE on PC just to make mods for Xbox.

You made the texture and mesh.

Are these unique to your mod? Did you copy and save an existing wolf and camera settings as new files?

You made a spell that polymorphs the Dovakhiin into a normal wolf. But when you change to a wolf the camera is underneath the wolf, rather than in the normal place it would be with any other Polymorph Self spell?

In order for a mod to be uploaded to Bethesdaâs xbox server the ck has to have referenced

I probably would use an existing wolf and all it's elements, copy them and rename them as new forms and pointing to the nifs and dds.

"can the 3rd person camera be repositioned in any other way? Can what is done by console command be done by script? Is there anything in the ck that could allow this, or is it as I suspect completely out of my realm of possibilities."

I cannot really help with scripting. Camera settings for the player can be adjusted in the ini files, but there may be something in the CK for wolves that needs adjusting. There will be more to it than just the nif and dds. I have made Summoning Spells, but I have no experience with Polymorph Self spells.

But you will know that for your spell you would need a Book to learn it, MGEF to create the effect and so on, the spell parameters for School, cost, level etc. I suspect there may be more to the wolves in-game than just the nif and dds. I suspect the camera setting from the wolf's perspective would be in there somewhere and, as you are becoming a wolf, you need it to change to player perspective. Normally, we only see the wolves, we don't see out of their eyes.

I think there are some Polymorph Spells for Skyrm on The Nexus, not sure about SSE. I actually wanted to create potions of Polymorph for my Alchemy mod, so I was going to take a look anyway at some point. Seeing how other people have done it will be an enormous help.

But then, there have been no Polymorph spells in TES since Daggerfall, so who knows? Although, I think some of the Druid mods allow changing to animal form.

Hopefully someone else will be of more help.

Good Luck!

:D
