bmardiney
Okay, I need help with this because I cannot figure this one out. I have this going on: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2350512504 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2350384118 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2344653548 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2344653557 It usually appears after about 30 minutes of play (meaning it usually doesn't appear on launch). It's like there's a shader firing to add "newly snowed on" and it's covering every texture that's labeled as "snow" (including ones placed on top of glaciers and stones). And once it's in my game, it won't disappear until I reload (and sometimes not even then). I have had Nordic Snow, Parallax textures, Better Dynamic Snow and Wet and Cold installed. I believe that Nordic Snow and Parallax are just texture replacers, so they wouldn't be adding shaders? That just leaves Better Dynamic Snow and Wet and Cold, right? Anyway, I've tried disabling all of the above and it's still in my game. Does that rule anything out or is the script just permanently attached to this save game? psicloner1
Have you tried using xLODGen to handle this issue? What about xEdit or LOOT? What version of Skyrim are you playing and on what platform?
bmardiney
Haven't tried using anything, I just use Vortex and then manage the rules as best I can. Playing SE on PC. Edited January 6, 2021 by bmardiney
Algabar
Definitely a shader problem with snow - although an unusual one. Normally problems with snow shaders show up right from the beginning, not after some time played... Some things you can try: 1. Go to your SkyrimPrefs.ini (usually located in .../documents/my games/Skyrim Special Edition). In the "display" category, add these two lines:bEnableImprovedSnow=0bEnableProjecteUVDiffuseNormals=0 The first setting turns the awful "improved" snow shader off (IMHO a must have setting). The second one can help if there's a problem with missing or faulty normal maps. Default is "on" (1), but in some cases "off" gives a better visual appearance. 2. Test with a new game. Just to rule out problems with leftover scripts. If the problem occurs on a new game, too, it's definitely a mod issue. Otherwise it's probably the save game.
7531Leonidas
Comments on the current version of Better Dynamic Snow https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9121 states that it (v 3.2) and the fix for parallax shaders do not play well together. The comments also show some problem with Wet and Cold. Go look to see if this applies to you
bmardiney
Okay, so far, getting rid of Wet and Cold seems to have done it (I've switched to R.A.S.S.). I guess Wet and Cold is just obsolete at this point. One of the first mods I ever downloaded.
