Archery messed up

Recommended Posts

When I try to hit people at long distance the arrow doesn't register, the arrow flies through the NPC with no damage.

I added this to skyrim.ini :

[Actor]
fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=14000.0000

This still didn't fix the problem. Please help.

I'm using SkyRe

If it's the same issue I think it is, I don't know a solution, although I'm sure there is a solution.

Do you have any mods at all installed besides SkyRe?

Yes

Try moving your SkyRe plugins above all of your other plugins. If that doesn't help, try uninstalling some of your mods and seeing if that helps. It would msotly be Trial and Error if you do this. From a logical standpoint, Better Bows would seem to be the issue. It's the only mod you have installed that I would recognise to modify anything to do with archery.

If that's not the case, though your issues are different than anything I've experienced, I would recommend disabling Better Dynamic Snow and WetandCold as I've had issues with these two mods due to incompatabilities, etc. (My game just crashed though, so it's likely something else since you have a different problem.)

If disabling mods doesn't work, or you'd rather try this first, you can also reorder your mods. The order mods load can make a difference. Try organising them. Things that alter base code should always go first. Then, you would want to add anything that adds completely new content. Any add-ons to mods should always go directly after the mod, or after any other required files that may come after in your mods list.

EDIT: Immersive Battles might be an issue. I'm unfamiliar with the mod, but I assume it alters the way NPCs react during battles. Hope this helps!

EDIT2: If I remember correctly, Climates of Tamriel is a complex mod, and if wasn't installed correctly it could lead to issues. Make sure everything is as it should be.

First before doing anything rash.

Disable all ESP mods

Leave your pure replacers alone, they won't cause issue

Start a brand new game with only Skyrim and any DLC you want to include.

Get yourself thru Helgen as quickly as possible, this is only a test character no need to look super cool etc

Once out of Helgen, get yourself somewhere where you can try long ranged archery.

Save the game in a new slot & make a note of which one it is -- so that you don't use it later when you restart your normal game

Try to hit the enemy at long distance. Sometimes it is the angle being off and you might find the arrow just below where they were standing or somewhere past them.

If you miss and they come after you, just reload and try again.

If you are absolutely certain that you should be hitting them and are not, exit the game and adjust your Skyrim.ini to the following

[Actor]
fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=12288.0000

It is a little less distance than what you have, but with it I have hit enemies from a long distance away. It may be possible that numbers above this value do not work. I got that number as a tweak suggestion from an archery mod. In fact that is the only # I've ever seen suggested.

Tried that and it's still not working. Could SkyRe be the problem?
