Vortex and Witcher HD bumped all my items up 23+ levels on NG+

Recommended Posts

Absolutely gutted. Few hours (at least) into NG+, I installed a couple of mods for it from the start (More money for traders, gallop mod, jump/sprint and no slomokill) and used script merger, all was beautiful until I tried to install Witcher HD and Vortex.

Couldn't do it using the Mod Manager so downloaded Vortex and installed using that and used the integrated script merger.

All of my grandmaster gear has now bumped up at the least 23 levels including the swords so I'm left with a cloth wearing Geralt fighting with his fists.

I've tried disabling all the mods, tried reloading older save games from NG+ but they're all impacted. All the higher armour is now in the inventory with a big red cross through it.

Absolutely appreciate all the time and effort in making these mods for free, but is there a fix for this? Really frustrating as I sold all the armour I've been picking up because it wasn't quite as good as my GrandMaster gear. Wish I'd kept it now - at least I'd have something!

Well, assuming the problem stems from using the script merger program after you installed the HD texture pack, and considering disabling all mods has no effect, the problem likely originated from the merger you made. (which will not be disabled even when you disable all mods)

As such, you'll need to find and delete the merged files the script merger made.

Go to your W3 install directory and find the folder called Mods. In it there should be a folder containing said merged files. Try deleting (make a backup!?) and see if that resolves the issue your having.

Used the merger to wipe all the scripts which made no difference sadly :(

May have slightly exaggerated the actual damage as well, thankfully I'm a horder so had a stash full of decent items including the Tesham Mutna set, so after a quick side mission to unlock all the runewright crafting I'm back on track.
