Lardtree3
I could probably do this myself since it's nothing fancy, but I absolutely HATE the damage reflect status/spell. I use a great deal of mods that beef up enemies health and power a great deal so in turn I have some nice strong weapons and spells that I use to give me a fighting chance against them (even with them they still kill me plenty). Unfortunately, these powerful weapons are my own biggest pain since monsters with natural damage reflection (clanfears, storm atronachs, etc) have tons of hp and I can only have so much without also modding that, I take enormous damage whenever I attack these monsters and am often killing by my own rebounding attacks. I'm not real confident about my abilities with the CS but I know how to modify weapon/armor values and that's about it. If anyone wants to help me so I could maybe remove the reflection effect from these monsters (or from the game entirely, I would love that) that would be great. whalecakes
You can go into the creatures tab and check out the enemies that have the reflection. The clannfear, for example, has an ability called "AbClannfear" on it, that gives it 20 points of reflect damage. If you go down to Magic > Spell > Ability you can edit it to remove the effect. As for enemies that cast it on themselves... you'd have to go through the spell list and remove the effect from every spell in there... Probably a lot of work >.>

If anyone wants to help me so I could maybe remove the reflection effect from these monsters (or from the game entirely, I would love that) that would be great.I already answered this one, but the server lost it. So, I'll give you the brief version. There is more than 1 effect which does this sort of thing. Fire, frost, lightning shields all reflect damage. Unfortunately, there are many mods which either change the values of these spells, or make new spells, which are given to NPCs (both new and old) which make use of these effects, so any adjustment would be pretty specific to your current mod setup. Additionally, the purpose of these effects is to force the player to use some other tactics or methods of killing these creatures. Afterall, what is the challenge if everything you fight requires little more than a "I hit you, you hit me" kinda exchange. Neither arrows or spells/enchantments are affected by these abilities, so should be sought out as a solution for dealing with those opponents that have these abilities. There are a number of useful spell effects which can assist you with these tough battles, why not use them. You could also just enchant a low physical damage weapon with a high enchantment to kill these creatures (since only the physical component is reflected). Ultimately, this is just a product of the sort of combat mod you have. What is the sense of making creatures have more life if you're just going to use a better weapon? You increase damage to offset their increased health, then have a problem because of that increased damage. You may have better results from re-tuning your combat mod choice a bit, removing the necessity of a super strong weapon to kill. Just by having increased damage, with same, or slightly less health, you should still see that bit of difficulty that you are wanting, since everything will still be hurting you quite a bit, but you won't need to be hittng so hard to kill things. Or, use the normal, or slightly normal settings, and just have reduced health for you. By having reduced health, healing potions and effects have a greater, relative effect, while also making all those traps now more deadly.

myrmaad
Thanks for the answers guys, I'll come with something. You could whip up some custom armor with a high "Shield" and "Resist" type magicka.

I was thinking the same thing, beat him with a reflect of your own :)
Lardtree3
I thought about that, but I hate glowing whenever I get hit so then i'd have to remove that. It's a slippery slope. Can I find the reflect enchantment in the CS and just reduce it's value to 0 or something?

Can I find the reflect enchantment in the CS and just reduce it's value to 0 or something?Nope, there's nothing central like that to control the effect. What determines the effect is simply the magnitude of each of the individual spells. Again, any mods which affect spells, or add new creatures/npcs may have their own changes, or may have new spells which make use of this effect. Meaning that you would have to alter each and every mod that does this to decrease the magnitude. IE, something you would have to do.

Oh well, maybe I'll just try doing it on clanfears and atronachs since I come across them the most. Otherwise it's not too much of a pain to whip out my bow to pop them a few times.
