Main issue is that whilst the "Speedtest" files downloaded at the speeds I've put into this thread, when actually attempting to download a mod, speeds were all around 100-200 KB/s

Same issue here in Australia noticed over the last month or so. Prior to this would get solid 1 mb/sec now its between 70-250k/sec. Not a premium user. Was with Superloop till a few months prior and no issues now with vodafone. Using a vpn connected to a us west coast location my speeds 300k -400k a sec

Sorry to hear you're experiencing download issues. We provide servers across the globe in an effort to ensure a decent downloading experience regardless of location, but, unfortunately, there are many factors outside of our control, such as ISPs routing traffic through connections that aren't ideal when connecting to our servers.

 

That being said, can you please try selecting one of the servers that seem to work better for you (Miami/LA) from the dropdown in your Premium membership preferences and try downloading a mod?

 

To do so:

 

  • On the site, click on your avatar in the top right
  • Click "Site preferences"
  • In your preferences, look for "Premium membership preferences" (just below where you can change your profile avatar) and expand
  • Select a server from the third dropdown

Hey thanks,

 

LA/Miami seem to work slightly better when actually downloading now, but only around 2-3 MB/s compared to the speedtest files as per the FAQ

Hm, glad to hear there is at least some improvement with those two servers. Have you tried all the other servers as well? Please make sure to try with a small mod, and a big mod each. Here's some random examples:
