Winrar: Access Denied

I am trying to extract mods to the data file of fallout and every time I try to extract it says " Winrar diagnostics messages: !

! C:\Users\Zach\Desktop\COM_HSC_V05-1712.rar: Cannot create COMM-Readme.txt

! Access is denied.

! C:\Users\Zach\Desktop\COM_HSC_V05-1712.rar: Cannot create meshes\jaysmods\architecture\camel\1.nif

! The system cannot find the path specified."

 

and what not... this error is displayed for every mod i try to extract not just CoM. Please help I am eager to try out some mods for fallout 3.

1 question: Are you extracting to or from the desktop?

 

It might work if you extracted in another location like a "temp" folder on C: or other hard drive (if you use another one).

I was extracting from desktop. I'm in the process of installing fallout 3 back. I am an idiot when it comes to vista and reinstalling it to public games was the only option that would work that i came up with.

Just try not to install to "program files" Vista doesn't like people messing with it there.

first don't use winRAR use 7zip.

Second never extracdt to your program directory. Extract to another folder then copy & paste.
