Kirkwall exports variation gda

Iâm trying to find the Gda variation files for Kirkwall exports. I unpacked all the erf files with pygff and only found armor massive and light, boots massive and light, clothing, and helmet massive.

I need the other files for a different reason, but Iâm also wondering the mod could even work at all without all the new models properly assigned to a variation ID.

I saw on the posts of the mod page that lots of people were having problems with it not working for certain items. Everyone was blaming it on the script files. But I canât get past the fact that there are no variation gda files. Thatâs far more important than a working script file to add an item to inventory, when you use ADD ITEM VISUAL DELUXE.

Is there anyone who has those files? Or someone who knows how to plot an item variation gda properly? I see on tsmâs variation spreadsheet that a number was assigned to all Kirkwall exports models. But I donât understand the rest of the table.

I just downloaded KE. I extracted the KirkwallExports.dazip to a folder (with 7Zip). Then I extracted the files from the various ERFs, with pyGFF.

The Kirkwall_exports_package.erf (located in the KirkwallExports\Contents\packages\core\data folder of the extracted mod) contains 15 GDA files:

armor_light_variation_kimp.gda

armor_massive_variation_ki.gda

boots_light_variation_kimp.gda

boots_massive_variation_ki.gda

clothing_variation_kimp.gda

gloves_light_variation_kimp.gda

gloves_massive_variation_ki.gda

greatsword_variation_ki.gda

helmet_light_variation_ki.gda

helmet_mage_variation_ki.gda

helmet_massive_variation_ki.gda

kite_shield_variation_ki.gda

longsword_variation_ki.gda

prcscr_kirkwallimp.gda

staff_variation_ki.gda

'prcscr_kirkwallimp.gda' is a non-item GDA, used for a PRCSCR script. All the other GDA are item-related, and as far as I can recall from my prior experience with the mod - I haven't looked at it closely in years, since I don't play the Dragon Age games any longer - every item has a valid ItemVariation assigned in those GDAs.... the only issue I can recall is something funky with a script. (I want to say it was a script for obtaining one of the Orlesian armors...?)

What specifically are the issues that 'lots of people' are having with KE? The mod hasn't been changed in years, and didn't/doesn't have any inherent issues, apart from that one broken script.

The issues reported in the comments were about not receiving items when using the scripts. There are many such reports. I was just wondering if perhaps the issue had nothing to do with the scrips. That's all.

Maybe my issue is that I was trying to cherry pick the files I wanted from the erf, instead of just exporting the whole thing. I shall try that Immediately. Thank you for that confirmation that the files are there. And especially thank you for all your work in making modding something possible for everyone!

Well! That's done! I feel like a total idiot for missing that!

Perhaps can I get your help with one other thing? I downloaded the tlk edit program you posted, but I can't get it to open. The first time I opened it, a box popped up saying it needs java runtime environment 1.5.0 to run. So I found that old version at oldversion.com, and installed jre 1.5.0. Now when I open it nothing happens. I'm running win 10 64bit. I installed jre for 64bit. Do you think I need 32bit?

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions or advice for TlkEdit2, because I can't to run on Windows 10, either. Any modding I do these days (and it's as little as possible) requires moving files from my Win 10 desktop to an old Windows 7 laptop. :-/

Somewhere in the forums there should be a discussion about TlkEdit2 and Windows 10, with advice that other users had for getting it to work... I don't have it bookmarked, but a search should find it.

Re Kirkwall Exports, I wanted to be sure I wasn't misremembering what worked and didn't work, so I installed that mod and summoned all the items with the console. The only two issues I had were the broken Orlesian gloves script (noblelglv2) and the script given in the description for the Orlesian hat is incorrect... it's not 'runscript noblelhlh', rather it's 'runscript noblehat'.

All the other scripts and items work correctly. For the broken/incorrect scripts, I wrote an omnibus script that gives one of each Orlesian item, downloadable as an optional file from here. (You don't need the retexture files, the script works with KE alone.)

I'm on win 10 64bit and just use the current 32bit Java version 8 Update 281 (build 1.8.0_281-b09)

I use TlkEdit-R13b or TlkEdit-R13d, both work with no problems.
