AurianaValoria1
Coming back to Oblivion, I now have this problem with screenshots. I can't take them anymore, and they used to work fine. I'm still using the machine I was using back when I used to screenshoot regularly. Each time I press the printscreen key, I get a folder in my Oblivion directory called "Testcamerapath" with some number attached to the end. I have HDR enabled and I do have OBGE, but I don't have any extra shaders applied. Anti-aliasing is forced outside of the game settings with my graphics card. I know I can use Fraps, but I really don't want to.
Hickory
Hiya Auri *waves*, Have you checked the following entry in your Oblivion.ini?SScreenShotBaseName= If you are getting a folder called 'Testcamerapath' it is likely that the above entry readsSScreenShotBaseName=Testcamerapath If so, delete any Tescamerapath folders, and replace the above entry with SScreenShotBaseName=ScreenShot You can also reset the base numbers with iScreenShotIndex=<whatever number you like>
AurianaValoria1
I checked, and It is this already: SScreenShotBaseName=ScreenShot I found this forum thread from waaaay back in 2009 that matches my problem exactly, but no one answered the OP. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/168519-prtscn-screenshots-and-strange-files/?hl=%2Btestcamerapath Maybe this will help give you an idea of what kind of trouble I'm having. It's like the printscreen key has turned into a recorder rather than a camera. :P
Hickory
Do you have a camera attached? I just checked my ini and it has these entries: [CameraPath]iTake=0SDirectoryName=TestCameraPathiFPS=60SNif=Test\CameraPath.nif To be honest, I do not know what those entries are for. It may be that (if you have a camera) the camera software is catching the PrtScn key press. I do not have a camera attached, and I can take screenshots, provided that AA is not enabled -- Oblivion won't let you do that.
AurianaValoria1
Hmm. I don't have a camera attached, either. Just checked those same lines, and my iTake was set to 9. I reset it to zero thinking it might help. I haven't tried it yet. BTW, is there a way to change the default screenshot button to something other than the printscreen key? I thought that might help, too, but I'm not sure how to change the key because it doesn't show up in the controls menu. EDIT: Didn't work...it just reset the camerapath counter to 0. I've read that the TestCameraPath functionality seems to be tied to NifTools somehow. Under normal circumstances, it would be a test function that wouldn't actually work - but apparently Nifskope uses it? If so, how do I sever the connection between Nifskope and my printscreen key? Nephenee13
Don't bother with the built-in screenshot function. Use an external utility. I use FRAPS (www.fraps.com) Edited March 31, 2013 by Nephenee13
Hickory
There is (to my knowledge) no way to change the screenshot capture key in Oblivion. What I find quite odd is that a NifTools oddity is causing your screenshots to be created as folders. That has me scratching my head... not much use, I know.
