ShadowEye31
Hello. I have a recurring issue with Skyrim that I hope someone can help me fix. On three separate characters, one of which used no mods whatsoever, when I reach Delphine during the Horn main quest and need to talk to her about the attic room, I am unable to. The dialogue option never appears. It happened on my first character, and I tried a different one, thinking it was a fluke. The same thing happened on that one, and to a third I used to see if it was mods. Even with all mods uninstalled, the problem persists. Solutions I have tried and did not work:*Uninstalling all mods*Reinstalling Skyrim*Using Console commands to bypass/complete quest and start A Blade in the Dark (Neither worked. Blade did not start, and MQ stalled)*Sacrificing a lamb*Punching a pig*Curb stomping my PC*Setting my hair on fire As you can see, I have tried almost everything within reason to fix the issue. Any ideas?
korun
so you take the "note" at the end of the DJ which trigger the last part of the quest, then go to Riverwood to meet Delphine and she doesn't have any dialogue, even renting a std room? when you've re-installed Skyrim, do you del any folder related first?do you have checked your game cache with Steam? @@
ShadowEye31
The only dialogue is to rent a regular room. No attic option. Quest marker is above her head though. Skyrim reinstalled, and I did nothing but rapidly TGM and kill the hell out of the quests to get to her again. Same thing. No mods, no file edits, just recommended settings and a new save. Verify cache is perfect. I would really like to be able to continue the main quest line....

Clank234
I know I'm reviving a dead topic but after struggling to solve this myself, I was able to fix it! I had the bug of Delphine only offering the rent a room option and no rent the attic room option available. I tried everything that I could find on the internet and nothing worked for me. First off I'll say try to avoid console commands, it f***s your game up big time if used incorrectly. Certain ones are safe but especially "SetStage" commands are game breaking and this Quest especially needs to be registered for the game to progress as it splits into another quest while active (A Blade in the Dark) which can only be activated by running it's scripts smoothly. Also for future reference, ALWAYS and my mean ALWAYS save your game a lot. If you are forgetful like me then download the Auto Save Manager mod. It is highly customizable and always gives you saves to return to! Okay so after trying all sorts of tips and techniques I tried my own out. I would reload my game in Ustengrav Depths at the gate right where you find the "Note from a Friend". 1. Read the note and take it. Don't leave it behind as some mods may be messing with your scripts. Also when reading, wait a few seconds for your game to register what it's doing. This is a general rule of thumb. When running lots of mods containing scripts, take it slow. Don't force dialogue and just let things play through as they should to their full. This alone solves 70% of my bug encounters. 2. It would then say "Meet whoever took the horn" blah blah. I ran around the room for a bit here just to make sure the quest scripts had loaded properly. About 20 seconds of jumping and sprinting like a mad man. 3. Open console command (I know I just said that you should avoid it but this worked for me so just do it) and type in "coc riverwood" without the quote marks. This should teleport you to Riverwood but not exactly in Riverwood, just a few metres outside of Riverwood. I noticed fast travel allocates you to a different location in Riverwood, usually at the gate itself. I think that when fast travelling, it causes some sort of script problem. I'm no expert but it's my only logical guess. 4. Talk to Delphine and the option should be available. Other steps I took included restarting Steam. Deleting older and obsolete saved games. Exiting to menu and loading to Ustengrav after the game had started. I really hope this helps some of you as I was ready to pull out my hair!
