Change the blocking

I think this is the first request I've made, it is the biggest thing that really bugs me about oblivion is the blocking. I hate how you recoil so much when your opponate blocks your hit (especially when its with a dagger or fists). I slows the combat down so much it almost feels turn based. So my request is that the recoil from blocking be removed, (except maybe from high skill blocking, shield bashing?). If this can't or already has been done please let me know. Thanks in advance.

anything with sword or hand to hand tends to be weak with blocking, if you end up getting fed up with blocking, avoid their attacks. A quick strike, in and out, and good timing is usually all it takes (of course high block skill is useful) unless ur using mods that already modified a block skill. Also, I suppose its because it balances out the uses of the shield.

I could see how useful this might be in a multi-person battle. Not to menchion if some dude blocked your hit in real life i highly doubt it would throw you backwords... But on the other hand, what about the blocky? Would you want to reduce the recoil to that as well?

You should search the files on TESNexus for "Duke Patricks SCA Style Combat." It revamps combat entirely (in a good way, too!) and has an option to totally remove the block recoil, making for more interesting and faster-paced battle.

I thought that all his mods require OBSE and some are buggy or eventually lead to crashing. If not please correct me and that would be sweet.

Matt

OBSE is actually quite stable now, as long as it is installed properly. Mod conflicts are most likely the cause of instability (or scripting errors... which may be the fault of the moder and not OBSE itself). OBSE will open a lot of doors for you though if you haven't tried it so perhaps you should reconsider.
