Lighting Issues; Mods having no affect on visibility

Presently, and for some time, I've been having some lighting issues with Skyrim. Specifically, when applying a Lighting Mod (such as Climates of Tamriel or RCRN), they seem to have very little affect on the visibility of the night (and of the visibility of dark interiors0. There is a noticable difference in the lighting, such as between these two screenshots (using Climates of Tamriel, Hazardous Interiors): http://i1302.photobu...zps8009ed11.jpg and Vanilla: http://i1302.photobu...zps0b9a5b22.jpg, but there seems to be too much visibility, considering this is taken with the Hazardous Option for Interiors, where "Torches are crucial". Compare this to an interior screenshot from the Nexus forum for Climates of Tamriel and you notice that something is definitely wrong: http://i1302.photobu...psf771f475.jpg. The same happens with exteriors: http://i1302.photobu...zpsf6eb1e93.jpg, but bear in mind that this is on the darkest of settings for Climates of Tamriel, which are supposed to be pitch black.

I've just now reinstalled Skyrim completely and only installed the latest version of Climates of Tamriel (3.0) to see if this resolves the issue, but it does not. I do not use ENBs (which I tested, but did not resolve the issue) and my ini settings are at the default. This was not a problem some months ago, when I was using RCRN, and so I know the level of visibility that I think should be present. I've searched around for someone with a similiar problem, but it's difficult to be clear in my search terms and so I've found nothing of use. I very much am at a loss for what to do. I really hope that someone with better knowledge of what might cause the problem than I can help me. It's really quite baffling.

EDIT: A resolution to this comes in turning down the brightness in the Skyrim settings. The reason this never occured to me is because I typically use the Simple Borderless Window mod, which prevents you from adjusting the brightness (at least in game). Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future.

for me the screenshots are ok^^, i'm using COT from the 1st release then will test the v3, but you must know that there is place which don't handle light like others, there is intériors treated as extériors for lighting purpose by beths.

night lvl1 CoT 2.1

http://imgur.com/dthvkPg clear night, it's really dark when there is no light source, was just Night lvl1

Hazardous dungeon, "torche is helpful" it's in hardcore "Torch is crucial"

lighting Skyrim isn't easy, so much place, landscape with different weather, then if you use CoT V3 go for night lvl 8, mod author JJ reverse his nights from vanilla default to pitch black lvl 8
