what i've already done

i used google.

read a lot in other threads, but found no (for me working) solution.

I tested with an new character: all is fine, no lags.

deactivated most mods with scripts: lags are still there.

deinstalled most mods with scripts, especially the mods with "huntervisionscript": lags are still there

deactivated all mods: lags are still there.

sleeping for 2 months, saving, cleaning save with Save Cleaner: no change, lags are still there

Created a new Character, then loaded the old one: no change, lags are still there.

renamed the data/scripts folder to data/scripts_bak: its just lagging (a bit ~2sec) if i want to do something with a script (open the menu (SkyUI))

but the most scipt-mods are not working so, this is no real solution

MISC

is there a way to get rid of these lags? i rly dont want to create a new character and i want to keep (at least most of) these mods.

i could think about: creating a new character, set his stats/perks/quests/items via console to the old values, but i think it would take >1h to do so.

Ok heres how I fixed the same problem.

Went home and took everything that I REALLY needed to keep and brought it to vanilla house and left it there.

Sold or used everything else,

Deleted house mod.

Made a clean save. (the kind with a # next to it). Not a quick or auto save.

Download and use this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31724 Follow the directions to the letter and make backups of your saves b4! Make sure it says finished or done in the console b4 ya close it. Sometimes it takes a while.

Heres a video that might help:

There is also a script cleaner on the Nexus but Ive never tried it. Let me know how ya make out!

90Mbs? Geez, my game started stuttering and crashing when my save bloated to 50! Hopefully Valkyrie's advice works out for you, because my only advice would be to load a long-past previous save and start fresh, or to start a whole new save, because one of your mods (or several) definitely bloated it past normal parameters.

hm ... i will try it, but it will take a while, because i spend more time frozen then playable.

i've used skyrim save cleaner twice (with the instructions at the mod-page)

You might want to also check out this thread about limiting fps with MSI Afterburner. It really helped me.
http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/955666-skyrim-low-fps-on-my-msi-ge60-0nd/

fps limiter !? its not that my hardware cant handle it, because with a new character all works fine ... but i'll try.

it started at 80 but not that bad ... after a while installing 2 mods with some scripts it was rly worse, than i tried with deactivating some mods and the file size went up to 120mb oO

i go sleeping now, will try it next day Edited by Soraphis

A) it looks like you haven't got the SKSE or MCE scripts installed correctly.

B) you are getting stack smashing

If you have changed the following Papyrus settings in your Skyrim.ini file to values much larger than default it will cause major trouble:

iMaxMemoryPageSize=512
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800

Eg. I've seen users set one or both of these settings to their max value (2147483647), which is just outlandish.

Unfortunately, setting these back to default values will usually not fix a savegame that is already broken, because the stack buffer has run out of memory which means that data has been lost. You may have to start a new game.

A) i've read all installation instructions before installing, and i used NMM over 90% of my mods have been installed before creating my character.

the rest ist just updating these mods, adding some graphical changes or utilities

B) possible ... but i dont think its my fault

I've never touched iMaxMemoryPageSize and iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes

my skyrim.ini hasn't changed since starting this character, and the papyrus section looks like:

[Papyrus]
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

  • MSI Afterburner

    didnt helped : /

  • take everything to a vanilla house
    • went to my solstheim house to take all things i "need"
    • solstheim has reseted itself, maybe caused by previous save cleaner actions, so all my things are away : /
    • canceld at this point
  • thinking about creating a new character
    • is there an easy and fast way to export all current quests states? (excluding random quests)

      because i rly don't want to do everything again : /

  • trying to deactivate all mods
    • game crash on load, i think its because of perks from Skyrim Redone, using a non-vanilla class, ...
  • Is there a way to prevent the save-files from growing in file-size? (while using this amount of mods)

Thanks for your help, but i think my character is lost : (

I repeat, you do not have the SKSE scripts installed correctly:

[03/31/2013 - 03:55:21PM] error: Static function GetINIFloat not found on object utility. Aborting call and returning None

The game cannot find the "GetINIFloat" function, which is part of the UTILITY script installed by SKSE. The vanilla script does not have this function. Therefore the SKSE scripts are not installed in your game.

That is why you game isn't working, and starting a new character will not fix the problem.

Reinstall SKSE and make sure that you also copy over the scripts folder, not just the SKSE executable file. I recommend that you do this manually rather than using NMM. The scripts folder must go inside your data folder and merge with the existing scripts folder, overwriting any existing scripts.

  • 6 months later...

I had this issue multiple times, cuz i have 200+ mods installed.... what i did is start waiting for 30 day in safe location, at players home which has not been modded..(for me its breeze home in whiterun). waiting of every 30 in games days reduce 6-8mb from my save file. What u should do, download the mod called "no more boring sleep menu" or something like that. Go to breeze home or any other un-modded players home, press T and drag the slider all the way to the right open console and type 'tfc' without commas, close the console and prees 'E' on keyboard or click yes, it'll take about 50 seconds to pass 30 in game days. when its done type 'tfc' command again, and save and notice how much file size is reduced. I've done this for so many times and my file size reduces every time, as long as your file size under 15MB its good. Mine is now 13mb, it was 60+MB before i did the above mentioned process. I've waited about 6-7 in game months, and when i save it was about 13MB in size.

Note: if u don't run tfc command before waiting, it'll take about 12 mins to complete 30 days of ingame waiting.

Hope its helps.
