TheTsundereGirl
So New Vegas is being buggy for me and these are some of the problems I'm having listed in order of severity. 1. The Legion have no bodiesSo I walk up to Nipton and find Vulpes and his bitches there waiting for me. Only they're just floating heads and hands. While it would be funny to say that the Legion are all dickless, spineless assholes, this is really glaringingly problematic. I suspect its something to do with my Roberts Body mod. 2. Female raiders and Ghouls have bright pink bodiesThey're heads are fine, but their bodies including hands are bright pink. I suspect its FCO playing up like the problem child it is. Worth noting I have Type 3 body mod installed also 3. Mismatching head and bodiesA few times I've come across NPCs with white heads and black bodies. This mainly seems to be on the Escaped Convicts you get around Primm. There are also some bad neck seems. Take the dead female Caravan guard on the road to the prison. I'm well aware FCO changes her to be more accurate to what is implied went down. However her head is quite pink, while her body looks white and messed up. The Nash's also seem to be mismatched too, as they have white faces and African American bodies. Daniel Wyrd (the dead dude outside their shop) also suffers from this as well as the next problem. 4. Strange black patches on Roberts body texturesDead male NPCs will usually have a strange black patch across the top of their chest. In some they also have it on their shins 5. LOD leaves but no trunksPretty self explanatory but from a distance there is no LOD for the trunks, so I see leaves floating in the air until I get close. I suspect LODGen and Wasteland Flora and Terrain Overhaul not being nice to me. 6. Ojo Bueno and NMCs cause CODI have them disabled for now so its not high priority, but they really f*#@ my game up if I turn them on. I'm using Vortex's priority rules list to prevent conflict. I'm on a somewhat dated rig, but even the smallest sizes cause it to COD within minutes. I noticed NMCs road texture never shows ever, its just the ugly ass vanilla road. Sometimes when I load into an area (if it loads) such as the Goodsprings Saloon, the walls and floor will just be black and will COD very soon. I've tried following the suggested fixes on the Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting such as several suggested patches for FCO. However the only thing that changed was a massive red warning sign appearing over the pink Raiders. I also tried to make a Batched patch with Wrye Bash but the game won't load past the Main Menu if I try playing with it. I use Vortex btw. heres my load order copied from LOOT. 0 0 FalloutNV.esm 1 1 DeadMoney.esm 2 2 HonestHearts.esm 3 3 OldWorldBlues.esm 4 4 LonesomeRoad.esm 5 5 GunRunnersArsenal.esm 6 6 ClassicPack.esm 7 7 MercenaryPack.esm 8 8 TribalPack.esm 9 9 CaravanPack.esm 10 a YUP - Base Game + All DLC.esm 11 b New Vegas Redesigned 3.esm 12 c FCOMaster.esm 13 d Run the Lucky 38.esm 14 e Gomorrah Redesigned v2.esp 15 f The New Bison Steve Hotel.esm 16 10 Bitter Springs Redesigned.esp 17 11 YUP - NPC Fixes (Base Game + All DLC).esp 18 12 Unofficial Patch Plus.esp 19 13 Vurt's WFO.esp 20 14 New Vegas Redesigned 3.esp 21 15 FCO - PathFixing Vanilla.esp 22 16 Simple Saves.esp 23 17 avangraffscorned.esp 24 18 The Lucky 38 Empire.esp 25 19 outsidebets.esp 26 1a Better Novac.esp 27 1b CNR_Beta.esp 28 1c tkEyelashesFNV.esp 29 1d Roberts_NewVegas.esp 30 1e FCO - Roberts Patch.esp 31 1f FNV Vanilla hat fix with all storyline DLCs.esp 32 20 JGrahamCompanion.esp 33 21 zion's fire 1.esp 34 22 rotfacetoriches.esp 35 23 kochandbohr.esp 36 24 betsybrahmin.esp 37 25 populatedcasino-light.esp 38 26 BR_MeatPrepAnimations.esp 39 27 originalintroExtended.esp 40 28 athornysituation.esp 41 29 AutumnLeaves.esp 42 2a awilderwasteland.esp 43 2b DeadMoneyFemaleTuxedo.esp 44 2c BennySuitFemale.esp 45 2d C2O_Jumpsuit.esp 46 2e Mojave Music Addition.esp 47 2f StealthSuitAddons.esp 48 30 Acies Evil Detective.esp 49 31 Businesswear.esp 50 32 MiscItemIconsNV.esp 51 33 NaturalWaters.esp 52 34 1nivVSLArmors.esp 53 35 WastelandNecklaceCollection.esp 54 36 RCSS.esp 55 37 CAGE 1.9.3.2.esp 56 38 Surgical_Masks.esp 57 39 TheTruthIs.esp 58 3a The Mod Configuration Menu.esp 59 3b BR_RestoredLobbyWindow.esp 60 3c Rocket graveyard 1.1.esp 61 3d Tailor Maid Black Retex - NV.esp 62 3e BlackMask.esp 63 3f UrgeWasterScarf.esp 64 40 Holster Gear.esp 65 41 Dala_EvilDetectiveT3_Complete.esp 66 42 Dala_EvilDetectiveClean_Standalone.esp 67 43 MercWanderer.esp 68 44 LightUpAndSmokeThoseCigarettes_edisleado.esp 69 45 lightupandsmokethosecigarettes_dm.esp 70 46 HairPatcher.esp 71 47 zzjayHairsFNV.esp 72 48 UnlimitedCompanions.esp 73 49 Better Burned Man.esp 74 4a BetterBurnedMan - JGrahamCompanion Patch.esp 75 4b 1Earrings.esp 76 4c Follower Home Marker.esp 77 4d LonesomeRoadMaskFix.esp 78 4e 1SBSteamOutfit2.esp 79 4f Sprint Mod.esp 80 50 Pacersgambit.esp 81 51 JIP Companions Command & Control.esp 82 52 FNVLODGen.esp Please be nice, I'm sure if I spent long enough forum trawling I'd find an answer but right now I'm working so much, I'm too tired to spend my evenings fixing a game as opposed to playing it. dubiousintent
Please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files(x86)" folder tree was bad (they learned better, and don't do that any more but didn't change it for older games); and why "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. Among other things, later versions of Windows (since the game was released) force files in "system protected" folder trees to be "read only" regardless of how you set them manually. It includes instructions on how to correctly move the Steam folders out of that folder path.Don't move it to a folder under "User\Documents" either, as "executable" files are not permitted to run from there for similar "anti-malware" reasons. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. As much of a PITA as that is, it's never going to be any easier than now. System updates often cause issues with games installed to these folder trees. With the game moved out of the default location you will not need to be running it as an "Administrator Account", which is safer. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article as well. Every other fix is going to be fighting (and failing) against the problems caused by being installed to that folder tree.:* Currently, the recommended alternative to NVSR, if you are running Win7 or Win10, is to try using the "New Vegas Tick Fix (NVTF)" and "New Vegas Heap Replacer (NVHR)" mods instead. However, until NVTF includes the option, you may want to continue to use NVSR for the "iThreadsFixedToCPUs" setting. Note though, use of NVSR along with NVTF is unsupported.-Dubious-
M48A5
The 4GB Fallout New Vegas Updated should be replaced with FNV 4GB Patcher https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552/? This will probably correct the problem you are having with NMCs and Ojo Bueno. Using two mod files trying to do the same thing will defiantly cause problems. Choose one or none of the stutter removers. Replace them with NVTF.
TheTsundereGirl
Please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files(x86)" folder tree was badI have taken ownership of my drive if that changes anything
dubiousintent
No, it doesn't. The "system protections" which Windows imposes on those folders overrides any other "ownership" questions (because malware typically grabs those "owner" permissions). And they get reasserted with every system update. -Dubious-
TheTsundereGirl
Okay so I'm using the 4GB patcher and New Vegas Tick fix as suggested. I'm using the patches for FCO and the Overhaul, except the FCO Master Fix which still displayed a red '!' even though the textures underneath were fixed. So there are no more pink female raiders, haven't seen if it fixes the Ghouls yet though. Then I tried fixing the Legion. I downloaded the Fix for the Caesar Legion Armors, as I read in the comments it fixed someone's similar problem. Well, Vulpes now has a body I can pump lead into but his bitches remain the same. I even downloaded RMF3 Brawler Body-Roberts compatible for FNV and TTW as it came with a bunch of armours converted for Robert's. That didn't solve it so I tried Legion Explorer Armor Fix and PM's HD Legion Overhaul trying to give the game something it could use. I even tried killing them and found that by removing the offending armour they would use Robert's Body like normal (still have black patches but thats low on my list right now). So to sum up, issues 2 and 6 are fixed and somehow Vulpes is fixed but not the goons with him. I don't know why.
dubiousintent
Re: Problem 1: Please see the 'Solutions to Mesh (Red "!" icon) or Texture (solid color) problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article. Check which "body type" those Legion Armors are designed for. If a texture is UV mapped to a different body mesh but can't find enough vertice points in common (as I recall) then it won't show up and you get the underlying body or it becomes invisible instead. Re: Problem 4: The "black bands" issues is also a related UV mapping problem with the texture being used for that body type. Some body types require compatible body textures. Re: Problems 5 & 6: If you add (or remove) any VWD/LOD textures (such as NMC, Vurt's WFO, or Ojo Bueno), please see the 'Checklist Item #15 & 16' entries in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide regarding the need to run both TES4LL and FNVLODGen; or xLODGen - Terrain LOD beta for FNV, FO3, FO4, FO4VR, TES5, SSE, TES5VR, ENDERAL. Also recommend you read the 'LOD/VWD Texture Packs' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article first. Failure to do this can occasionally result in CTDs.-Dubious- Edited February 8, 2021 by dubiousintent
