prensa
RedRyette - Hello!"It seems to be running perfectly fine about a half an hour in. Thanks so much!"Great, glad to have helped! :)"the guide I was following told me to edit to Fallout_default.ini for a Steam version. I'll presume that was my problem, and I'll go fix it now. I guess I should also put that ini back to it's original state?"That'll have been the problem, the FALLOUT.ini is the one used by your game when you play. The Fallout_default.ini, in your Fallout 3 folder, is what the game uses should your .ini need recreating either because you restore defaults or FALLOUT.ini gets deleted.I don't have a STEAM version of Fallout 3 so I don't know for certain if it's true but I've seen it said that sometimes the FALLOUT.ini can get rewritten under STEAM & that is why STEAM users are advised to change both .ini's.It won't hurt to leave the tweak in your Fallout_default.ini in case that is true. It would just mean that if Fallout has to rebuild the .ini, the fix will be added again."Also, I forgot to mention that I downloaded Directx 9. I heard that Directx 11 might be an issue"I've got Directx 11 & Fallout 3 runs fine. So you may want to change back & see if all is well now that you've made the changes to the correct .ini."I'll look up my chip and give you the details, Purr. I'll put it in an edit."You can find out a great deal of detail about your setup by going to the seach box in the START menu (the little Windows symbol at the bottom left of the taskbar) & typing in:dxdiagThat'll bring up dxdiag in the results, click on that for your rig's details. You can even save them to a file for reference.Prensa
Purr4me
It seems to be running perfectly fine about a half an hour in. Thanks so much! I'll look up my chip and give you the details, Purr. I'll put it in an edit. I actually don't know how to find what I'm looking for, through google... Could you tell me where to look for details on that? Also, I forgot to mention that I downloaded Directx 9. I heard that Directx 11 might be an issue, so I did that last night. I didn't try the game again until after I'd edited the correct ini file, so I don't know if that actually helped me at all. But if you're still having an issue after the ini fix, try that too.Click "start and then run, and type into the box (dxdiag) and if it asks you to check for signatures do it. Bellow is what I want.http://imageshack.us/a/img46/3164/testudm.jpg
