Is it possible to Manually Install a Mod from Steam Workshop WITHOUT h

Edit: OK, so my thread title got cut-off. Should read: "Is it possible to Manually Install a Mod from Steam Workshop WITHOUT having to "Subscribe" to it?"

I've always been a "Nexus Exclusive" type-a-Dude, however I've come across a mod I want to install into my game that's seemingly only available through The Workshop.

Now with EVERY mod I install from The Nexus, I always download manually, unpack, examine the files and folder-structure to be sure it all looks good, then repack, drop into my "Mods Folder" and then install with NMM. I like this level of control and don't like the idea of Steam installing any mod into my game automatically by "Subscribing" to it (Christ, Steam has too much control as it is lol).

Also, I don't know if "Subscribing" to a Steam Mod permanently links it to my account, even if I later "Unsubscribe" to it? If so, I want no part of that.

So, is it possible to download a mod from The Workshop WITHOUT having to "Subscribe" to it.... so I can isolate and manipulate the file, then install with NMM?

To my knowledge no...however I BELIEVE once the BSA is installed you could manually unpack the BSA with something like FOMM and then unsubscribe. However you would have to look for any updates yourself.

Once you unsubscribe I do not think it shows up on Steam anymore. At least I can't see where mine show anywhere after I did so.

As of the subscribing part - you can at any time unsubscribe to mods from steam - its just the default setting. Unsubscribing only disables the automatic checking for new versions but leaves the files on your machine - just as a manual downlaod does. There are extensive descriptions about this on the Steam forums.
