[WIP] Better Staves

Staves in Skyrim are pretty much a re-usable scroll and becomes fairly redundant once you have a steady magicka pool and regeneration. In a few hours I made a mod that allows the player to increase the magnitude/duration of staves at the cost of extra charge drain. Currently, this is what it looks like:

 

This mod adds three new lesser powers when you equip a staff (and optionally removes them when you unequip it).

 

 

Staff Focus: Increase

- Increases the effect of staves by 20% and the charge it drains by 30%. This effect stacks.

 

 

The highest magical skill of the player determines how many times he can stack the spell.

<20 : 3 times (60%)

<40 : 6 times (120% (like dual casting))

<60 : 9 times (180%)

<80 : 12 times (240%)

<100 : 16 times (320%)

>=100 : 20 times (400%)

 

Currently, it only checks for the highest skill, no matter what staff you are actually holding. A master of restoration can still boost his destruction staves to the limit.

 

 

 

 

Staff Focus: Decrease

- Decreases the effect of staves by 20% and the charge it drains by 30%. This effect stacks.

 

 

Cannot go bellow 0%.

 

 

 

 

Charge Staff

- Channels your magicka into your staff, recharging its powers.

 

 

This is a toogleble spell. When activated, it drains 10.0 magicka from you every 2.0 seconds and adds 4.0 charge points to the equipped staff. The charge added increases with your enchanting skill. With enchanting at 100, the staff would gain 10.0 charge points.

The magicka drain value and the drain frequency will be configurable.

 

 

 

Things I've yet to make:

- MCM menu; because spamming the power-button is a pain.

- Change the Staff of Magnus

 

 

- While the target has magicka, the staff will recharge itself

- New lesser powers will be added when the player equips the staff. Using these drains charge from the Staff of Magnus.

- Increase magnitude of spells by 25% for x seconds.

- Increase duration of spells by 25% for x seconds.

- Decrease magicka cost of spells by 25% for x seconds.

- Increase maximum allowed summons by 1 for x seconds.

 

 

 

This mod alters all vanilla staff enchantments except for Wabbajack due to its scripted nature.

 

Sugestions to what I should change/add?
