HeLLL
Ultima. The series that defined an RPG generation. <or something> Ultima Underworld Stygian Abyss is my favorite RPG ever <I love morrowind but this game rocks!> If you have Win 9x download it <I stand to be corrected but I think it is classed as abondon ware. Yes I know that there is some legality issue's but to the best of my knowledge you can not by this game anymore <except on ebay> so it is common understanding that if you can not buy the game and it is no longer availbe to buy through retail stores and the company has not filed for the rights to protected and the company no longer supports it <like they did with The Secret of Monkey Isle> you can download the game>
Switch
heh well i cant really say anything about the ultima series as it was a bit b4 my time. and i cant run them because XP hates DOS. all i played was Ultima Online which EA Games messed up when they took over OSI. and added their latest patch, "Age of Shadows" *shudder* neways, i cant really say much about the elder scrolls series either, as thats mainly DOS and before my time as well! xD so really the only series i can comment on is Final Fantasy which ive been with since i bought FF9 (tho once i bought some of the others i realised how cr@ppy 9 was) but im still voting for the elder scrolls series, cos morrowind is unbeatable and the others in the series dont look half bad from what ive seen of em. ^_^

miltonic
Final Fantasy is enjoyable, but it doesn't have the appeal to me that the Fallout series brings. I also liked the Baldur's Gate series , but for my money, Betrayal at Krondor has been the most enjoyable RPG I've ever played. I probably logged over a thousand hours in that game, and completed it at least 4 times, it was that good. Each time I'd find something that I missed before. Morrowind is great, if only the Npc's had a little more diversity, it would be incredible. I understand the difficulty in making all the Npc's diverse, but somehow the game feels a little hollow because of it.
HeLLL
Personally <i know im probably going to get flamed for this> I think that Final Fantasy isn't really an RPG. You can't really "Role play" because every thing is so predetermined. I mean the closet you could get to role playing FF is choosing which spells to use or which guardian to summon. My cousin has brought ever single FF <for playstation> and I have played them all as well. and yet I would class it more as an adventure game than an RPG. HeLLL
*Whew* Yeah but you are right there switch most console "RPGs" are quite linear. Well my favorite FF would be 11 but that is for more deviant reasons

FabFour
I like the baldur's gate series the most because that was the games that introduced me to role-playing, I also love the elder scrolls series of course :)
