Sianama
I don't know, but my Dovahkiin was a master Thief and Fighter and a little powered up by spells (Illusion ftw^^) well before she ever knew there was something in the world called Thu'um. My enemies usually never know I'm there, before they hit the ground and I don't need any dragon language for that. Only my mage-Dovahkiin used the Iceform-shout once in a fight, so she could bring up her armor before being hit by Tsun. You need the Dovakiin-thing only to defeat Alduin, because you need Dragonrend, but everything else you can accomplish without any shouts at all, only with the appropriate skill. So I'd say in a fight the Dovahkiin, fighter or mage, could and should win against the other two, expecially if he uses his Dovah-talents in addition to his/her already honed skills. But I think the three shouldn't be fighting at all. They should unite to bring about a glorious new age and free the mortals of supessive supremacists like the Thalmor, who threaten not only mankind but all races with their vision of a glorious new world order unter the iron thumb of an Aldmeri Dominion. Or maybe the Akavir, when they come for their next invasion. The three are going to be needed ^^
blacksupernova
Become Ethereal won't save Dovahkiin from the fall, just like it can not save him from the power of Nocturnal (Twilight Sepulcher). Remember, even God Mode won't protect you from power of Sheogorath.Dovahkiin defeats Alduin - dragon god, with the help of Paarthurnax and Heroes of Sovngarde. He then defeat the first Dragonborn - a servant of a Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora, with the aid of a dragon.Nerevarine defeats Dagoth Ur and Amalexia single-handedly, the latter being a member of the Tribune - living gods of Dunmer. Combined force of 2 tribune gods is enough to banish Mehrunes Dagon - a Daedric PrinceHero of Kvatch faces Mehrunes Dagon, and successfully protects Martin from him. He then single-handedly defeats Jyggalag - Daedric Prince of Order - the Prince that all other Princes scared of (probably including Mehrunes Dagon and Hermaeus Mora). He does that before becoming and receiving power of Mad God.And so it is obvious to me that who is the strongest, who is the weakest.
gsmanners
Actually, DB didn't even defeat Miraak. Miraak tried to run away at the last moment, but Herma Mora caught him. LOL
sisterof
^ Yep, greatest frustration of my Dovahkiin's life. First, to need help to defeat Alduin when it's his goddamned Destiny. And then have Hermaeus Mora troll him in the last moment and steal his only chance of winning against a major foe (who may have escaped anyway). Sianama
I never saw the fight against Alduin that way. I thought it was a great thing to fight alongside those heroes and finally give them their chance to finish what they started. I think it's only fair that they have a part in this. After all, without the Dovahkiin that would simply not happen.I think somehow the strength of the Dovahkiin is not only Dragontongue or fighting prowess, but he/she makes things happen. He lends momentum. And he/she somehow can do things others can't: reading an Elder Scroll? No problem, I can do that several times in a row, nothing bad comes of it (for me at least^^) Crawling for hours through Apocrypha, reading Black Books and carrying them around? No problem, I show no signs of any corruption. To the afterlife and back, no problem, not even as an elf in Sovngarde. All the things that should have a life-changing impact on a mortal simply make me a little dizzy sometimes, but nothing else.
gsmanners
DB is a wuss compared to the Hero of Kvatch. CoC survived Oblivion gates by the dozens and even took Shivering Isles away from its original ruling daedric prince. DB, on the other hand, is just Herma Mora's bathroom attendant. CoC witnessed the apotheosis of Martin Septim, and his triumph over Mehrunes Dagon. DB chased after a flying lizard. Few can enter the Hall of Heroes in Sovngarde, that is true. So, the DB is perhaps almost as impressive as Ysgrammor. Whoever that is.
