Georgiegril
Can you post your BOSS log? (If you don't have BOSS, get it, it's a regular program, not a mod. You can download it from here. The one with the Installer is easiest to use. After you run BOSS, make sure to read the log that is generated. Don't worry about the dirty edits messages at this point, but address any other messages you get.If that doesn't fix your crashes, copy-paste the text version of the log here.If it is long, enclose it in spoilers (if it is long, that is probably a good part of your problem) In addition, if you have made any custom changes to your prefs.ini or .ini files, please list them. Likewise with your graphics driver. (Though if you haven't updated your drivers, that is something you probably need.)
bben46
Skyrim, like all of Bethesda's Gambryo engine games has a serious memory leak. It doesn't release Ram memory as well as it should - that means that eventually you run out. The more mods and high resolution stuff you add, the quicker it will run out and crash. The simplest way to increase the interval between crashes while still using the same mods would be to increase the available ram. You show 2GB, which is fairly low by current standards. Even though the standard for MS Windows programs is 2G max ( can possibly be increased some) the Windows and any other programs you have running in the background take up quite a bit of your available memory - leaving you with nowhere near that 2G available for the game - Adding just one more Gig of ram will allow the operating system and any other programs to be moved out of the 2G that the game can use. Skyrim does have a 4G patch built in that allows systems with more memory to use more for the game - up to a maximum of 4Gig (because Skyrim is itself a 32 bit program and cannot use more than 4G) Unfortunately, you are using a 32 bit version of Windows which cannot use any more than 4G maximum for everything - Game, Windows and any background processes - so adding more than 4G will not help. Ram memory is currently fairly cheap - and is usually very easy to install - Be sure to look first to see if you have available memory slots and to see what kind of RAM you need. Often a low end machine will have just 2 slots with 1G in each slot - in that case, get 2 - 2G memory sticks and replace what you have - if you have 4 slots and 2 are being used, then get 2 - 1G sticks and add them in the empty slots. If you see just 1 installed stick of memory, get 1 more 2G stick and add it - whatever you need to add up to exactly 4G. Any more will be a waste as it cannot use it. ripple
Copy/paste the contents of the BOSS log here, enclose them in spoiler tags like so (without the spaces): [ s p o i l e r ]copy/paste log here[ / s p o i l e r ] Do the same for the list of plugins not recognized by BOSS if one is generated. Georgiegril
Well, it looks like you need to hand place your unsorted plugins. That can cause crashes,.As Ripple suggested, please enclose your BOSS log in spoiler tags. Having to scroll through that every time is annoying. That your crashes are time related suggests to me that you are looking at your resources being overwhelmed. You have an older card and your CPU specs are also low. You may simply be expecting to much of our system and it is crashing due to the load. It may also be overheating. Have you looked at your temperatures while playing (not before/after, they will rise/fall quite quickly. Are you using something like Riva tuner/EVGA precision, etc? Are you using NVidia Inspector? (It yes, you can use them to limit your fps, check your temps, etc.) When was the last time you cleaned up your files, defragged, and gave your computer a good blowout?Have you tried removing all the lighting mods? (Climates, Dynavision, etc; and all of the increased scripting/animation mods?)--to do this you need to go back and reread everything the mod author has posted, make sure you uninstall correctly or that will add to your woes. ripple
As Georgiegril and bben said, your rig isn't powerful enough to handle some of these mods(or a combination of them, like multiple mods using continually running scripts) considering it barely meets the minimum system requirements, so you should first uninstall the Hi-Res DLC pack, because that's for people who exceed the recommended system requirements. Otherwise, you'll have to do as bben suggests and get more RAM, and upgrade your GPU. Mods with continually running scripts will add stress to your CPU (footprints, climates). Some tweaking of memory settings in the game ini files might help to optimize performance but I generally don't recommend it because aside from 'ugridstoload', there are generally no 'definitive' guides on the repercussions these tweaks have on the stability of the game (and they generally trade stability for performance). MultiZMAN95
Oh I see the case now. Thank you guys for the help and the tips. I'm just gonna upgrade my CPU and all that's needed to be changed. Well I guess you guys are right I expected to much from my CPU. ^_^ I also tried re-installing some other mods the is mentioned above and It did really help a-lot . Now I can play for about 6 hours+ w/o any crashes. Thank you guys so much. :)
