CTDs

Right, going to admit, it's really random. I can play one day no problem, the next day it'll crash after 5 minutes, 30 min, 2 hours, etc. It started when I started my current run. Since I usually play a light armor stealth character I decided for variety to go with a heavy armor warrior. So light armor mods (Like a mod to turn the Companion's wolf armor into light armor) got removed, heavy armor mods installed (like to make Deathbrand heavy). Then I sorted the mod order with Loot and rebuilt the Bash Patch with Wyre Bash. Though I normally use NMM I use Wyre Bash to make the bash patch and occasionally for diagnosis. All the mods are showing up as black or green in Wyre Bash. It's really puzzling. I do have a Modwatch link, though it didn't grab the Papyrus log, nor the ENB .ini file, so I'll include those as well and hope one of you can make sense of this. If you need anything else just let me know and I'll toss it your way. Thank you for your time.

Well, that's a new one. I was just standing in Whiterun, idling while I looked up something on my phone, and it CTDed. When I returned I took a blacksmith potion, and sharpened Mehrun's Razor, and while in the menu, clicked on my other weapons to see if I could improve them or not (Couldn't) and that caused another CTD with in 5 min of the previous. O.o

Well, it's not temp related. Been monitoring MSI Afterburner (without it my fan curves don't work) and it never gets higher than 60C and that's not often, it usually lives around 50C or less. The CPu, according to Corsair Link, never gets above 50C and that's good for a Ryzen 1700 X, especially on an AIO that's going on 5 years (yes there are plans on replacing it soon as preventative maintenance ) . And now the game just froze, didn't CTD, it locked up mid swing on a troll, forcing me to End Task it. >.<

To be honest, when I poke at the log I see a lot of errors for Better Vampires. But yer not suppose to remove mods like that mid run, I mean, it's * possible *, in the MCM tell it that your uninstalling it, let that do it's thing, save, close out, uninstall it, run the game and make a clean save, then run a Save Game cleaner to get rid of the extra orphan scripts, then away you go. But, eh... That's only for extreme situations, the game crashes and it's annoying but it does play, just in 5 min to 2 hour segments. >.<

Well, bloody hell. Froze again and this time I got a MS Error pop up (though it was hard to read since Skyrim was hiding it). A MS Runtime Error R6025 Pure Virtual Call error. So I had Steam verify game file integrity and it only downloaded two files, the readme (which the ENB had overwritten ) and the installscript.vdf , the only two files with the right date / time stamp. O.o Right, so, I am still flailing in the dark here. It's quickly spiraling toward something I really really really don't want to do, something that I'd rather have teeth pulled than do. That's a fresh reinstall of Skyrim and all 97 mods that are installed. >.< But it's starting to look like it. There is at least one texture that is missing the texture part but not the underlying mesh and my god rays look like a skull if you manage to get a dark enough backdrop to see them on, and I restored the enbsunsprite.fx and enbsunsprite.tga from the original ENB files with no fix.

Completely getting rid of CTD's in Skyrim LE took me a couple years. Now if I add a new mod on a new playthrough and I crash at all, that character gets deleted along with the mod. It's a lot of trial and error, and time. Some mods that were problematic for me were environmental texture mods (really popular ones), which you won't see in an esp list.

I haven't used the majority of the mods you have, so can't offer many opinions there. But I did use the latest Claralux and had to remove that due to issues. I see you using an AutoSave Mod Manager. From my understanding, while using auto-save in a vanilla game is likely safe, using auto-save modded can be problematic (especially with scripted mods). So I strictly use hard saves.

I see you have Crimson Tide - Blood. That's on this dangerous mods list and is considered to be highly unstable. Also, the STEP website has been really helpful to me in making ini changes and setting up my ENB.

It's time-consuming, but I'd check the forums and bug sections of all your mods and see what might have caused issues for others.

That's weird, been using Crimson Tide for ages. Ok, I've swapped it over to Enhanced Blood Textures though now my water textures, well, not the water itself, the edges of the water, is all borked. O.o And, yeah, I've been trying to find a replacement for Claralux for a while, just the LOS II mod got pulled down by it's mod creator leaving only Claralux for lighting. I'll go over that list of dangerous mods. Thank you.

Alright, so... Total reinstall of Skyrim and the mods, made some changes in the process. No ENB just ENBoost for one. No Claralux, using ELFX to see how that goes. CoT I am using the vanilla nights and dungeons, no darker. No Amidian Born stuff, ugg, if I was to get any of that I'd dump the 20 ish or so mods into a temp folder and pack the textures and stuff into BSAs for performance purposes and make it easier to install / remove. It was almost half a page in the NMM Mods page. AMidian for Whiterun, Amidian for armor, Amidian for Weapons, Amidian for caves, Amidian for Glass Variants, Amidian for Ebony variants, Amidian for Skyforge variants, etc, etc, etc. Like jeezus. Umm, added the SFO (Skyrim Floral Overhaul) as that looked interesting. Got rid of Better Vampires. Then again 8.5 has issues. It reports itself as 8.4 and NMM thinks it's out of date, for example. Still figuring out what is and isn't effecting Skyrim with ENBoost, like, for example, even though "Speedhackswithoutgraphics" is set to true it still controls VSync and FPS Limit as when I first started a new playthrough I was apparently going over 60 fps as stuff was bumping, thumping, and flying around me. That got fixed when I set the FPS Limit in the Enblocal.ini and fixed the screen tearing when I set the Vsync in the Enblocal.ini. Only one crash so far and that was before I set the FPS Limit so, possibly it was just the Havok engine having a seizure because I was going over 60fps. We'll see later though when I get a minute to really play test this.
