Help with importing into Creation Kit

Hi all,

I am having an issue with trying to import a character that I created in Skyrim and saved using spf. When I import her into Ck the face looks completely different and the skin tone is way off. I do have multiple mods running in Skyrim for hair and improved character creation options, including enhanced character edit and apachii sky hair, etc. Is there something i am missing when working in Ck? Im quite new to modding.

If you used mod added content to create the character, the CK cannot locate those associated forms without each of those mods present as masters to your plugin.

What you need to do is flip each ESP that has assets used in the character into a temporary ESM. See here

After you load up the CK with all those mods as parents you'll be able to import your character and everything *should* point to the appropriate colors.

However, some mods do things differently and make changes on the fly in game. Therefore you may encounter some situations where the data still isn't being called up as you would think. RaceMenu is an example of one such mod. I'm not sure about Enhanced Character Edit, it may fall into this group as well. Only way to know is to try.

Ok so I tried that and got the same results... :( This is a screenshot of what she should look like. But when I import her into Ck her face, head, skin everything goes to default values making her look completely different.

Looks like you did not include the correct hair mod otherwise the correct hair should have shown. If the hair doesn't show up then it won't use the color that was assigned for the hair. The same is true of other features like eyes, eyebrows etc. Your straight tint layers will show the assigned color on import no matter what, but if they are a custom color they will not save in the CK without creating the necessary forms.

The lighting in the CK is not the same as in game. What you'll have to do to truly see any difference is to create the character, save the plugin, use ctrl+f4 to create the face gen data files, then check it out in game.

Maybe a read thru this will help... Its not specific to what you want, it is in regards to making a mannequin and preset based on an NPC file made via the spf command. Even so, much of what is there could be useful as both presets & mannequins are actors too. http://isharameradin.zxq.net/MakingAPlayerBasedMannequin.html
