CTD Whern Changing Gender/Race From Clean Save

I downloaded a clean save from Skyrim Nexus, I like to stat my characters over and hate doing some of the same old quests over and over and over again.

Anyways, I like this save. This person completed some of the quests I've done several times and don't want to do again, they also didn't level up or pick any perks and they didn't use any mods that I am aware of. I however use a decent number of mods though (could these cause an issue with changing gender and race? Should I disable them all and see....just a pain in the butt to re-enable them all)

So basically what's going on is that I don't like the race and gender and I want to change it. I know about the showracemenu command and I have used that, but when I do the game crashes to desktop when I change the race and gender. I know about the set race command as well and tried that, was able to change to a Breton but crashed when I went to showracemenu and changed the gender to female.

Does anyone know of a work around to change the gender and the race that works? I have no idea what is causing the crash. In theory I should be able to change it. I've changed several characters apperances many times and never ran into any issues. I do know that if you have selected perks and stuff, those things can get mixed up but from this save no perks have been selected yet nor has leveling up been used to select either health, magicka, or stamina.

_{***Updated*** I've read somewhere that Apachii Hairstyles could be an issue, therefore I will try the mod "Apachii Hairstyles Redcued to your Need" and see if that helps when I get home today.}

That suggestion will solve all your problems, especially if you use the show race command in a resource intensive area. The guy who made it's a genius really. In any case do post back, I'm intrigued to see if that solution works for a saved character file.

_{I disbaled Apachii Hairstyles, changed race and gender, saved the game, exited out, enabled the hair mod, restarted the game, changed the hairstyle and it works like a charm!}
