No for me..because its a fantasy game first of all and do not even closely represent a real pack animal. They are like giant fleas and seem to have a hard-outer shell that can be carved without causing them harm. There is no evidence in any of the games that they are abused, mistreated, injured or otherwise harmed. They are no different than the horses in the games.

If you are a person that feels that no animal should be used in such a way then I guess you are going to be offended. However as I said there is no evidence that would get the Morrowind Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals involved.

Perhaps I would be, if I was an extreme animal rights activist, and if Silt Striders were real animals.

They don't exist in real life. By that logic, killing people in Morrowind would be evil as well.

However, if you're truly so bothered by it that it's going to detract from the game for you, I could try making a mod to remove all Silt Striders and their owners from the game. That would remove some of the quick travel though; you'd have to rely on boats and that kind of thing. Message me if you're interested, because I probably will never look at this thread again.
