CoderGuy325
So I bought Fallout 3 GOTY on Steam a few days ago and played a bit of it, but wanted to start modding pretty much right away. I've been watching Gopher's Fallout 3 playthrough and like what he has setup so I've been watching his videos to get a nice base mod setup. So I went through it but once I got to DarNified's UI mod when I tried installing through NMM it wouldn't work, I'd get an error saying "An exception has occurred in the script." and in it a bunch of security/permissions related stuff. So I was trying to get it to work and got it to by editing the FALLOUT.ini fonts myself like with a manual install, and then installed it through NMM but said No to using the fonts. But later on in the series I got to all the Directors Chair related visual mods, and went through to find that both Cinematech and Directors Chair had the same errors, but I had no idea how to work around it this time so I started looking it up and most people said that the security related stuff was due to Steam being in Program Files, so I moved my Installation to My Documents\Steam and updated the path with NMM and tried it again with UAC turned off, it still gets the same error, I've tried running as admin as well. On forum threads I've seen addressing this error it seems that FOMODs with scripted installers don't work with NMM, but no one seems to really be getting an answer to this problem, so I'm wondering if anyone here has the answer. Since I cannot copy the error and cannot find it, I'm attaching a photo to the post. Thanks, - Coderguy
nino791
Hi Coderguy,i dont now very well nmm but from what i have read is a light version of fomm with same use, i also followed gopher vids but with fomm and all work perfectly, my suggest is to use fomm instead nmm if you have problem. (really is not too complicated) Nino791
CoderGuy325
Yeah, I'm thinking if I want to complete my mod collection I may have to switch over.I will consider it, but I may end up being too lazy :P
