PJMail
A vague question I know, but I am porting my mods to Xbone and have to restrict them to one version (no Fomod) to reduce my 'effort'.This means I need to decide whether I have an1 - 'all DLC' or 'no DLC' version support2 - more or less Realistic requirements/gameplay (akin to choosing 'survival' or 'easy') style of mod. I know whatever I choose people will complain, but what have Xbone mod authors found?Do most Xbone players now use a 'GOTY' version?Do they prefer mods that make gameplay easier (like over powered guns etc) or harder/more realistic (like Survival mods)? Bethesda.net 'most popular' etc does not help (like Nexus it is Guns and Scenery, minus the 'clothing' mods for obvious reasons).
SKKmods
85% of SKK mods users are on Xbox, but only 2% of user feedback and interaction is from Xbox users so dont expect much. Those Xbox users are shooters who prefer combat, weapons and QOL solutions. They do not have an affinity for quests or building and don't know about dwessup as I dont do that stuff. Since I invest huge effort to make my solutions DLC independent (GetFormFromFile) I dont know what the adoption rate for those are.
PJMail
Thanks SKK - My thinking too (lowest common denominator) - No DLC requirements and 'easy' crafting requirements. And I also understand the lack of feedback - I think it was you who commented somewhere that typing with a gamepad is 'not optimal'. PJMail
Is there any way a third party can test your mod before you 'publish' it? Or is this only an option for the mod author (somehow)?
SKKmods
You upload in CK which is unpublished, then publish in the mod web page. When you publish, tick the WIP category box and it will not appear in the listings. Test users can search on the mod name in the WEBSITE (mostly not using the in game mod search function, thats pants), then favorite it, then it will appear in the Xbox library to download and install. Oh the mod webpage is limited to ~2K chars so if your description is comprehensive it can be a chore to squeeze it all in. Not that most users bother reading stuff. And the images never stay in sequence so you cant provide visual trails or signposts when readin' is hard, yeah.
