thehecatonchires
Hey guys. I just got back into Skyrim a week ago because I just got my first gaming computer! Even vanilla SSE knocked my socks off on this thing! But before this, years ago, I was really into modding Oldrim. I used a Samsung laptop (may she rest in piece) with integrated graphics, so it was a struggle even making the game playable, even without lots of extra mods. I mention all this because for all the time I played this game, the more advanced graphical mods I avoided and higher settings were things that I tried to reduce so I don't have much experience with it. I remember installing mods that decreased textures and resolution instead of the other way around. Now that I have a much more respectable machine, I'm able to notice things I didn't before, for better or for worse. In this case, I notice that the logo and the smoke in the main menu appear...off? There's a faint, white "glow" seemingly over both. Does anyone know which, if any, graphical setting governs this? I'm not even sure what anti-aliasing or occlusion are to be honest ...but toggling them seems to do nothing. Then again, I'm not even sure if the main menu is supposed to look this way and I'm just used to my downgraded laptop version. Current Specs :Nvidia Geforce GTS 1650 Super8GB RamWindows 10AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor(Currently playing on Ultra Settings)Google searches bring up lots of unrelated main menu topics. Any (constructive) feedback would be appreciated! Image - https://postimg.cc/18PZpzyZ
IsharaMeradin
I'm not seeing a glow. The logo model (it is a 3d mesh) has reflective material. What you're seeing is most likely reflection from a light source that Bethesda must have included off screen to make the main menu model and loading screen models visible. Unfortunately, I have no idea what you could do to tone it down.
