Myrithial
Hello, First time actually posting on these forums. I've mostly DL'd and tweaked mods. I have never gone in depth to creating a mod but I had an idea for a mod that I'd like to toss out and see what the interest would be. Aside from adding in new armors it could also add in some content to the game. So here goes. Dragon armor as it is now is base and only offers mostly highest armor class aside from armors that are modded outside of the game. All dragons drop the same components for dragon armors/weapons. So instead of one component from all dragons each dragon drops components unique to that dragon type. Ancient dragons drop ancient bones/scales for example. These components could give armor/weapons special properties based on the dragon type. For armors say base dragon gives you a small amount of resist to fire. Frost dragon a small amount of resist to frost. Blood dragons could give you a greater fire resist boost as well as a minor cool down bonus to unrelenting force or buff the damage from it. Since most dragons except legendary breath fire/frost would need to decide on other abilties from higher dragon components. Maybe introduce some different breath weapons from dragons depending on type to offer different resists. Maybe legendary dragons could give overall resists? Plenty of ways to go with that. As well higher components offer a higher base armor. Weapons could be generally the same. Base small amount of fire damage for regular dragons then on up the line. Same with damage on components the higher components give higher base damage. Maybe accuracy bonuses or swing speed or fire speed for bows. Each dragontype armor would get a different texture. Could do different models but that would require a lot of work I am sure. Now for the final part. Legendary dragons would have a unique end game armor to craft. All other dragon armors you could craft on a regular forge except legendary. To craft legendary you'd have to complete a quest involving several dungeons. First dungeon would be introduced by a quest. Either from a book or triggered by NPC conversation based on level. You'd go to your first dungeon and upon completion you'd learn a word of power to open the next dungeon. To reach the next dungeon would require the ability tame and ride dragons. Completing the second dungeon would lead to a 2nd word of power to open the 3rd and then for a 4th. Once you complete the forth you are directed to a last dungeon where the dragon forge is located. Each dungeon could have a final legendary dragon, maybe named, to complete a hammer you'll need to forge the armor as well guarding the word. At the completion of the final dungeon you'll find the last guardian and you must hold the tool in his fire breath to reforge it. Thoughts would be appreciated. I have the tools to do this just not the know how and I think it's pretty ambitious and not a small order. Thank you.
GrimyBunyip
I think the part of about you needing to complete several dungeons, and be able to tame dragons, and collect word wall words, then find the magical hammer thing is complete unnecessary. It really doesn't make sense to do all that, and make the player do all that for a reward that's basically just a retexture with a resistance gimmick. Myrithial
The final version of the armor would be more unique than just a retexture and resistance gimmick. It would have unique properties to it that the other armors would not have. It would have it's own seperate look and feel. Current dragon scale armor looks more like alligator and dragon bone armor. To me it doesn't really look like dragon scales. I am currently watching Nightasy's tutorials on how to modify armors. Must say if you want to learn this stuff it seems very complete and easy to follow. I've managed some things in the CK as well. Still thinking out on how to trigger the quest. While most of it is loose idea at the moment I have a firm idea on how I'd like it structured.
