Hallsteinn
I'm trying to edit an .esp file and I open the file and I've made sure to set it as the active file. I make the changes I want to make and then I click save, but apparently I have to do more? Because when I load up my game, nothing has changed. jazzisparis
Are you using a mod manager (such as NMM or FOMM)? Did you make sure your file is "checked" (activated) in your load order list, before launching the game? What kind of changes did you make?
Hallsteinn
Yes I am using FOMM and it was indeed checked when I started the game up. Specifically I edited the weapons ammo type, then I clicked save, then I closed the GECK and started my game but it didn't change

chucksteel
My first question is what are you really trying to do? Are you trying to mod a mod? Edit a mod? Or create a mod from scratch? My first guess would be is to mod a mod because of the issue your having. If your loading an .esp in the GECK as it was a .esm like FalloutNV.esm making changes and, saving a new .esp this will not work. One .esp cannot be a master to another .esp, in the GECK it will look as your making changes in your new .esp but these changes will never work in game. your options are, 1. use FNVedit to convert the .esp you want to make changes too to an .esm, this way you can now use it as a master for the .esp your creating. 2. Back up the original .esp then just make changes directly to the mod you want to edit. hope that helps chuck
