Georgiegril
BOSS is telling you you have incompatible plugins. I would take care of that first. You also need to manually place all the unrecognized mods as instructed by the mod author, or in the absence of that, with similar mods. Shredy777
Can you name some of my incompatible plugins? How do I place those unrec. mods manually? Thnx for now :)
Azakiel
Some examples include MagicDuel.esm and MagicDuelReborn.esm.under each mod BOSS may or may not list warnings. if it does (which it is in the case of quite a number of your mods) you really do need to act on the warnings ASAP.regarding the manual placement of unrecognised plugins, you can either create user rules using BOSS, or you can install wrye Bash and drag the mods into the position you think they fit. Shredy777
I don't quite understand all of those warnings...Like: Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Relev}} I heard somewhere around that you shouldn't use TES5Edit to clean out mods... only master files. That if you have problems with mods then you should contact the Mod maker. Is that correct or can I just clean those mods?
Azakiel
The Bash tag notes are just suggestions for which Bash tags to attach to a mod if you are using Wrye Bash to make a bashed patch (which is primarily used to merge changes to levelled lists, but in oblivion could do more things). if you have any mods that modify the same levelled lists you will want to create a bashed patch so you can benefit from all the changes, not just the changes to the levelled list made by the last mod loaded. There are very few situations where clearing ITM records from a mod is a bad thing (you should always clean UDR records), and that is mainly where the mod if deliberately reverting a particular vanilla record to the state it was in vanilla skyrim. I have only ever seen this in mods that revert changes made in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (for instance the change to the Necromage perk). Unless the mod description says that is the purpose of the mod, you should also clean the ITMs (although it is a little bit more of a judgement call. The reason people say to contact the mod author is primarily to notify them that they left dirty edits in their mod, so that they can clean it in their next update. Georgiegril
This is an example:1nivWICCloaksNoGuards.esp Active Checksum: 8A5F9F22Warning: Use only one WICCloaks esp.Incompatible with: Cloaks of skyrim (even with compatibility patch). To fix this use another WICCloaks esp or uninstall cloaks of skyriYou need to read the entire log. If it says it is incompatible with another mod, you need to choose one.If it says a mod should be removed, remove it. If it says another mod or patch is required, you need to get it (or not use the mod) To manually place mods, you need to go back and read everything the mod author provides--description, discussion, readme, everything. Since BOSS does not recognize it, the BOSS log will have no information on compatibility either. You need to make sure the mod is compatible with the mods you have, and look for advice on the proper placement. If there is no placement advice, you can try putting it with similar mods that are placed by BOSS (so house mods with other house mods, followers with followers, etc)
Shredy777
Thanks guys, I will get to all of this this week. Anything else that could be causing random CTD's?
Azakiel
its difficult to say, it could be one of the issues we've already noted, or it could be something else. Once you've done what we've suggested, post up your papyrus debug log the next time you get a CTD, along with a description of the situation where you crashed, and we may be able to track down the problem
