Can anyone check my load order? I used BOSS...

So, I've been holding off on Skyrim til mods came along and made it an amazing game, and all DLC was released. Well, all DLC is released and mods have come a LONG way.

 

So I dove in, using the NMM, as it seems to make things a hell of a lot easier than I remember modding Oblivion was. That said, I went quite over-board on a bunch of mods, far as I can tell they installed fine, no real conflicts while installing besides the obvious, which I replaced some, didn't others. I have not booted up the game. Oh, also is there still a need for that mod that boosts performance, that uh, x86 one or something? I remember hearing a lot about that...on top of that, is there a better female bodies mod? I mean, I've seen some of them, but those are pretty much nudity...I'd just like a better looking female body...without the nudity, as I have friends who come and watch me play at times, and eh, kind awkward. If it was just me...sure, but when I have friends, no nudity. :P

I'd appreciate help, thanks.

 

EDIT: OK, so I decided to start Skyrim up, using the SKSE...and it mades it to the logo...then closed. It didn't crash. It didn't freak or. Just closed, no error, no nothing. Clearly I f***ed up here.

 

Edit 2: Ok, clearly I didn't install SKSE correctly, I thought it was drag & drop to main Skyrim folder, appears not.

 

Edit 2.5: Ok, it appears SKSE is drag and drop, and the Readme is confusing as telling me to do something it does automatically. :P

Please use spoiler tags the enclose your logs so they don't clutter the entire screen.

 

1) Cleaning: download TES5Edit from that link, follow the instruction on the page, and clean the plugins flagged by BOSS as containing 'dirty edits.' You'll need to remove identical to master entries as well as undelete/disable deleted references.

 

2) Maintenance: go through the BOSS log and attend to every error message (for example, messages about needed updated fix patches for plugins made with pre-CK tools, because they will likely contain error records, which will cause CTDs).

 

3) Delete/remove the optional cloak plugins which you have deactivated since they are clearly not needed. Instead, download and use Wrye Bash to build a Bashed Patch that will merge any leveled list conflicts.

 

4) If you are not using the Mod Organizer to install mods, you will need to 'plan' the order of your mod installation in cases where mods contain conflicting files that overwrite each other, because installation order does matter in such cases.

BOSS does indeed sort the load order to about...95% accuracy - only 2 mods I have are placed incorrectly, not including the ones that haven't been added to the masterlist, but it only take a couple of seconds to move them down my load order with Bash to where they're meant to be.

 

Make sure you clean those .esps! =D

 

Delete the .esps you do not want to use. It'll help keep things neater in your load order/your Skyrim/Data folder.

 

You can use Bash to manually correct the load order - looking at the mods already sorted will give you a pretty good idea of where they should be. Just remember that NPC makeover mods go after things like UFO/ATF (the only issue I've had with BOSS). Also, bashed patch = good. =)

 

I've never used Mod Organizer (and don't intend to - same with NMM), but make sure you read up on it if you intend on using it. Beginner's Guide.

 

 

Your question about female body mods: As far as I'm aware, all female body mods have a non-nude option. CBBE, for example, has a vanilla-style 'Nevernude', as well as a modern style underwear option.

Thanks, I was using the Nexus Mod Manager to install. I used BOSS as I thought that was supposed to od a load order. I just downloaded Mod Organizer, but I don't see anything to auto-correct the load order?

BOSS automatically sorts the load order based on its masterlist. You can use any mod manager to manually sort the load order position of plugins not recognized by BOSS, like NMM. MO is just another mod manager. The difference between MO and other mod managers is that it does not install mod resources into the game data folder, so there is no overwriting of files in cases of conflicting files, and you can manually rearrange 'installation order' after you have installed mods (which no other mod managers can do). Since you have already installed your mods using NMM, you should stick with that. But for future references, you would need to 'plan' the order of mod installations if you are using mods that contain conflicting resource files (which, when installing them using 'traditional' mod managers like NMM, would be indicated by popups asking if you want to 'overwrite' files).
