accountmadetodlmod
I disabled SkyRe for now then retried Tes5edit with the Race mod I want to use. It appears the mods come with the RaceCompatibility" mod and when I enable the race mods it also enables the compatibility mod. But this compatibility mod looks for Dawnguard in Tes5edit Heres a snip for Tes5edit[00:13] Background Loader: loading "RaceCompatibility.esm[00:13] Background Loader: [RaceCompatibility.esm] Loading file[00:13] Background Loader: [RaceCompatibility.esm] File loaded[00:13] Background Loader: [RaceCompatibility.esm] Start processing[00:13] Background Loader: [RaceCompatibility.esm] Adding master "Skyrim.esm"[00:13] Background Loader: [RaceCompatibility.esm] Adding master "Update.esm"[00:13] Background Loader: [RaceCompatibility.esm] Adding master "Dawnguard.esm[00:13] Background Loader: [Dawnguard.esm] Loading file[00:13] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2.The system cannot find the file specified[00:38] Background Loader: finished Now the Racecompatibility page does have a regular version for the mod, then a version for dawnguard. But it seems the race mods I want come bundled with the dawnguard version. They do not mention Dawngard as a requirement, that could be true or just an oversight. What I am now trying to do is get the regular version of Racecompatability installed and somehow get the race mods I want to not install the dawnguard version. Well, that's at least what I think is going on. I am trying to do this on my own, I just have no experience with any of this. Am I on the right track? ripple
Since you don't have any of the DLCs, you'll have to make sure you get the 'basic' version of any mods that provide DLC support. Some mods use DLC resources, and will not have 'non-DLC' versions, so you won't be able to use those mods. The 'Race Compatibility' mod won't cause or fix CTD issues, but its primary purpose is to provide 'workarounds' for quest related instances where the player character's race are polled to produce race specific conditions for dialogues and responses. The 'Dawnguard' version of 'Race Compatibility' is thus intended to provide the same workaround for Dawnguard (and is thus dependent on the Dawnguard.esm as a master). So you don't need it since you don't have the Dawnguard DLC. You can attempt to 'switch' the Dawnguard-dependent Race Compatibility plugin that was bundled with the custom race mod with the non-Dawnguard version you downloaded. It may or may not work, as it may indeed be an oversight on behalf of the author for not specifying that the mod requires Dawnguard. Search the support comment thread for the mod and see if anyone has reported this or if the author has provided clarifications.
