black border

getting this annoying black border in the bottom of the screen

It sometimes happens when I accidentally click the start up more then twice

 

its really annoying

& now I'm having trouble where it is always coming up

 

 

any way I can fix this?

In the launcher options check to see if you are running it fullscreen. That might be it. Or you could be running at a resolution not the same as the aspect ratio of your monitor.

I run fake full screen window mode

16:9 1080-720

Is 16x9 the native resolution aspect ratio of your monitor? Because that could add black bars. If you are not losing any picture but have black bars I would say that has to be it.

I isolated the problem

this has never happen before but its happening now

 

I think I found the problem

I did the verify integrity of game cache from steam

then that black bar was gone

but I had to re enable archive invalidation

where nmm gives me that msg fallout ini is read only

when I click yes to that

so I can toggle archive invalidation & nmm to manage my mods

that black border came back

this is getting ridicolous

several times that black border goes is not there when i boot the game

but the majority of times it poppes up

& its really starting to annoy me:/

How about the driver for your video card. is that up to date?

Sounds like your task bar is fighting with the game to decide who gets to be on top.

Story of my life, really.

You might be onto something. What if yo go into task bar properties and make sure it is not set to always be on top or to do that moving up and down thing that tey do?
