This problem has been consistant and I cannot find a fix no matter what I do. what happens is that after maybe 15-20min of playing I notice textures missing on anything, npcs faces turn completely black and object textures (including weapons and armor) turn pink, and I get massive stutters around towns but not when Im running around the world or inside a hold. about an hour after that I get a CTD. I first thought it was my graphics card so I bought a gigabyte radeon hd 7950 and upgraded my power supply but that didn't solve the problem. ran boss and cleaned out my files with tes5edit and I still get the exact same problem.

Replace your mod list with a BOSS log (with the messages). Just copy/paste the log into a spoiler tag. Include the list of plugins not recognized by BOSS if one is generated (enclose it in a spoiler tag too).

 

Have you made any edits to the game ini files.

im having some trouble with boss at the moment, now sure whats going on but its saying that it isn't recognizing skyrim is installed, same thing with NMM. I cant post that right now but I will once the situation corrects itself. might just be my internet being weird or something, I don't know.

as for my ini file, no I haven't even touched those as I don't know how to make changes to them.

1. You make need to give yourself admin priveleges for BOSS (right click on the BOSS icon or .exe file)

2. From your description of your driver update, I think you may be looking at a corrupt driver file. Please read the EVGA guide for proper NVidia installation, and also you need to completely read the release notes that comes with the driver file. Especially the known issues..you may need to make adjustments to your game profile.

now I am a little confused if I have a corrupt driver file, then how come it only effects skyrim? I don't seem to have any trouble with dishounored or battlefield 3.

...and attend to those warnings.

 

You are using a number of 'give more stuff to NPCs' mods that edits leveled lists, so you should download and install Wrye Bash to generated a Bashed Patch that will merge the conflicting leveled lists.

 

textures missing on anything, npcs faces turn completely black and object textures (including weapons and armor) turn pink

If this happens gradually as you play the game and not as soon as you start playing, then it does sound like something not related to mods. What's the rest of your PC specs?

wrye bash is something that I know absolutely nothing about, I don't know what it means or does so I have been generally ignoring those, what mods are doing those 'give more stuff to NPCs' thingers? the mods that say stuff like 'obsolete. update to the latest version' are just follower mods I created with the CK, they use the same name in some cases and I just kinda forgot about them.

 

the rest of my PC specs? oh boy, umm, see im not really a techy guy so I have to look up how to find out my system specs, what is it that you want to know exactly about my system specs? I can probably find the info for you, I just need to know what to look for is all.

 

CandyR27 - that's interesting, I didn't catch that before, I could have sworn it said it was compatible, ill have to double check that, thanks.

"Give more stuff to NPC mods" I am referring to are mods that edit leveled lists used by NPCs in order to distribute mod gears (weapons, armours, items) to them. They often conflict because they modify the same leveled lists. For example, most weapon/armour mods that distribute gears to the ever popular 'bandits' NPCs do so by editing leveled lists used by bandits to assign various types of armour and/or weapons. In case of armour and clothing, outfit records are also edited, but there is nothing you can do about that short of creating your own compatibility patch manually (and generally, it's safe to ignore such incompatibilities as they are not 'game breaking').

 

In your case, you are using a number of these sort of mods: Immersive Armor, Immersive Weapons, Dr. Bandoliers, Cloaks of Skyrim, Winter is Coming, these are just the ones I recognize at first glance (there might be more). If you download Wrye Bash, you can automatically generate a Bashed Patch (basically a '3-click' process) that will merge the conflicting leveled lists edits, so they will play nicely with each other without conflicts. Otherwise, the gears from the mods will not distribute properly (because mods loaded later will override conflicting records of mods loaded earlier).

 

It's not the cause of the issues you have reported but there is no reason you should have to put up with conflicting leveled lists in your game when you can easily resolve them.

 

Looking at your system spec, it's not that much more powerful than mine (although you have a slightly better GPU), although I am running 64bit version of Win 7....Are you using any texture replace mods that don't come with plugins (so don't show up on the BOSS log)?

well the less conflicts the better, still though it is a little annoying to have to use 4 programs, (NMM, BOSS, TES5EDIT, and now Wrye Bash) to be able to get this game up and running. but if that's what needs to be done then so be it. ill look into some tutorials about wrye bash later on today and see if I cant create this "bashed Patch' to fix that conflict. I do appreciate your advice on that matter, and the idea of fewer conflicts the better.

 

ahh yes the 32bit problem, it has been an ongoing concern of mine for quite a while, although for the most part iv had no real game breaking problems (except in bf3, but It was fixable, I had to do something rather complicated to get it working, cant remember what that was though but it was a problem that only exsisted for people running windows 7 32bit). as for texture replacer mods, definetally have a few, here are the ones not showing up on boss log;

these are the only ones I can see, my mod list is above though just in case I missed something but could that be the problem? im running too many texture mods? if so would that cause those stutters around towns as well as the missing textures problems?
