Seremoth
Just finishing a playthrough in Dark Souls and i felt like returning to Skyrim again. When i entered the game i remembered why i got so bored of it in the first place, even if i did install over a hundred mods. What i want is someone to suggest a very hardcore, "realistic", slow paced, demanding combat mod setup with preferably as little level scaling as possible. I don't like level scaling. I can't include Requiem (which has nice static level features) due to some things which other probably incompatible mods include.I want to include some modules of Skyrim Redone but should i include its combat system or Duel for example? PS: As an extra request, is there any mod that makes skyrim a bit greener or less "moody"? The endless savanahs are getting tiring. Don't want Tropical Skyrim though - too extreme for me. Thank you in advance!
donker316
I havent tried Duel yet maybe that would be a good alternative to skyre-combat. Well anyway Skyrim Floral Overhaul has a summer edition that would brighten up your gloomy days. Or you could get CoT and use the winter edition if you want a cold snowy overhaul. Snow in whiterun, riften, solitude. Death id highly over rated is a good mod if you want that dark souls feel again, if you die you lose all your stuff and have to retive it from your dead body and if you die again your stuff is gone(Except quest items :)) Immersives creatures is a great mod to use if you want new creatures not as far fetched as Skyrim monster mod, and also has a lore-friendly add-on as well. Well there you go just some thoughts for ya.
Senviro
After finally finishing Dark Souls myself, I personally would suggest Requiem. But, since you say it's not quite up to snuff, the next best thing is SkyRe, with as may of the difficulty modules as possible, as well as upping the game's difficulty to either expert or master. Plus there is a mod (I think it's called Skyrim Speeds) that lets you tweak the movement speed of your character, horses and NPCs, to get a less "floaty" feel. To make combat slightly better as well, I'd also recommend TK Dodge. As for moodiness, there are always ENBs, or, as I prefer, IMAGINATOR and Dynavision; to tweak contrast, saturation, color overlay and depth of field. I'd also look into tweaking your third person camera during combat, to get a more over-the-shoulder perspective in battle. Hope that helps in some way. mellophonist
As far as hardcore mods go, besides requiem and SkyRe, I'd recommend the following. 1) Frostfall2) Realistic needs and diseases3) Hunterborn 4) Camping Kit of the Northern Ranger
Seremoth
Ah many thanks guys you helped me a lot already! I have used Requiem in the past and i would love to use some of its features along with SkyRe but i don't think it's possible. Maybe i'll try to merge them. Anyone got anything for static or at least relatively static level lists? Edited April 19, 2013 by Seremoth
MightyZ0G
ERSO has some interesting modules and you can leave out the modules that conflictNo HUD is great when combined with no crosshair and no floating quest markersPoint The Way adds extra road signs at crossroads so you don't have to keep checking the map to see if you are going the right wayif you use Frostfall or any similar survival mod you will want Cloaks of Skyrim and Winter is Coming-Cloaks and Fur Hoods HDI'd also add in Wet and Cold and Footprints to add to the immersion.Cooking Expanded would also be a useful addition.Dragon Combat Overhaul makes the dragons quite unpredictable during fights and combined withe Deadly Dragons or Enhanced Mighty Dragons makes for some epic battles
panurgy
1) Frostfall2) Realistic needs and diseases3) Hunterborn4) Camping Kit of the Northern Ranger Great list. I'd suggest looking at Duke Patrick's combat mod if you want hardcore combat. It's the most realistic and hardest mod for combat that's out (in terms of being a hybrid approach that requires player skill and thinking, character movement/positioning, as well as stats). If you're looking for more RPG stat-based combat than Duel is great. DP is the most full-featured mod: all the standard stuff, plus adds it's own duel-wield blocking and locational damage, determines weapon hits by mesh (only mod that does this), alters movement based on armor type, and adds a ton of features, many of them configurable. The only caveat is that some people prefer RPG combat or video-game action style combat. With DP, some fights are slow, and some are fast. It depends on how much blocking is going on, etc.
