So I have this play through in new vegas that I have been trying to enjoy after playing through new california except the longer that I spend in that play through the worse that my fps gets generally in every area. I have tested different areas on earlier saves, showing 60-110 fps and everytime I try to play through the game by the time I reach new vegas my FPS has went down in those same areas to 20-40 and gets worse and worse the longer I play on that play through. please help me

FPS is about how long it takes the graphics engine to render cells surrounding your character and their contents. As your character "collects things", the game engine has to catalog them from your save files, and determine if they need to be displayed. There are also the "dynamic" things in the environment (such as traps, clutter, and NPCs/creatures) that are there by default but may have been "disabled" by your actions previously and their display has to be determined similarly.

Slow downs during a play session are typically evidence of memory leaks as pointed out in that other thread. You may (I have no way of telling) have some "save game bloat" from FNC since you seem to be exhibiting this drop after playing in that "worldspace". Every "unique" item you carry out of that worldspace has to refer back to that mod for the records of those items in your inventory. You might try the experiment of loading a save from before you left FNC, unloading (selling or discarding) everything unique from that mod, and see if that improves your experience.

hm this reply actually gave me an idea to what it could be. One of my mods gives me a sort of second unique inventory that displays all of my items full models, is it possible that the reason why my FPS is slowly being drained is because it has been rendering all of these items as I play?

ehh nevermind disabling this didn't work

also the fps drops without even having the items from the NC mod :/
