The enigmatic way of telling a story without eluding to who, or even what the main character is, was masterfully written. In fact, it was done with such poetic ease, that this story could easily have been a child's bedtime story, campfire tale, or something found in Aesop's fables. When something seems so familiar, (as with this story) that usually means that it's tapped into something deeply embedding within our subconscious. Perhaps tales like these evoke that primal side of our being by calling forth a common thread to all earth's creatures-the fight for survival. Delightfully engrossing, in every sense of the word...
