darksoul2142 Posted April 22, 2013 Share Posted April 22, 2013 The problem I have is that it seems to always occur near Rivet City. After fast traveling to Rivet City or even as I would say going even near it till the Jefferson Memorial texture and mesh problems start-up Either the pipboy map goes all pink or the pipboy markers on the map go pink. My armor/clothing and weapons get affected too. In the pipboy their icons are all pink and when equipped they take the form of a red exclamation mark (texture problem I know). Either the armor/clothing or the weapons are affected sometimes even both. The funny thing is that any weapon equipped when the save file has loaded is perfect but upon reequipping Voila! red exclamation mark. At first I thought Anchorage Frozen Armory mod( a weapon's cache placed near Rivet City) was the problem but even after disabling and deleting it the problem does not go away. A second hitchbacking problem in the same area occurs(and at the same time too) the interaction button is broken it won't start any conversations or activate the intercom near the bridge. Though entering buildings and other areas works. *SIGH* I am going mad with this problem. I am in desperate need of help. M48A5 Posted April 22, 2013 Share Posted April 22, 2013 The problem you are having is caused by the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch. I have seen this same problem discussed across the Fallout 3 Forum. However, I do not now nor have I ever used the UF3P, so I can't direct you to the fix. If you do some research in the discussion posts for the mod, I sure you can find the cure. Why not any other place?"Rivet City is often a troublsome area, it's got an intensive texture for the carrier's hulk that often produces a notable slow down for many even with vanilla games.I've seen people who use high res texture replaces be fine everywhere else but get crashing at Rivet City because it was just too much with the extra load in that location.If you're experiencing the maximum mod bug it could be most notable around Rivet City for that reason, Rivet City's already a high stress area.So if you've got a high res texture replacer that's another thing to look into. You can just remove the High res Rivet City textures if you are using one & see if it helps.Of course, with as many mods as you have, you can't rule out that there is a faulty or clashing one somewhere in there.I count 269 plugins you've got there, you need to reduce that number as problems start at 255 & sometimes below even that.Hope this helps!Prensa Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

"Okay I count 227 but still I have this problem" As a test, uncheck a bunch of mods so that you are down to about 100 - 120 plugins just to see if the problem goes away. If the problem is gone, you can slowly add back in mods, checking in game to see if the trouble returns. Keep in mind that the max number of mods bug is textures & meshes dropping out. Crashing could be caused by other things. "btw should I just untick the mods in NMM that I have merged?" The max mod bug applies to how many single plugins you have. If you've merged plugins of a few mods together, that's better as it will count as a single plugin. Many smaller mods, like ones that add single items, can be safely merged to reduce plugin count. Would re-installation of the whole game and every single mod I have solve any problems? I hope so because most of the problems I had in the past disappeared upon re-installation.
