Dragonheart27
I'm new to pc gaming, so I don't really know a lot about it, but my version of Skyrim doesn't want to work. I have all the settings on the lowest possible difficulty, and my game still crashes out after about 5 minutes of a new game. I've tried everything I could find. My computer specs are:Processor: AMD A6-3650 with Radeon HD Graphics 2.60 GHzRAM: 8.00GBSystem Type: 64-bit Operating Systemwith Windows 7 Home Premium. I also have several hundred GB of free space and no viruses.
GoodfellowGoodspring
Have you got any mods installed? Which version of Skyrim are you running? Do you have the 4GB patch? Are you running the HD texture pack? Are your drivers updated?
Dragonheart27
All of my drivers are updated, I'm running the latest version, and I have some mods installed including the texture pack, but all are turned off. I tried with and without the pack.
Georgiegril
The only way to rule out mods completely is to do a clean reinstall and start a new game, unmodded. If you do that and are still crashing, then it strongly suggests a hardware or settings issue.Probably a good idea to do that, since you may currently have problems from orphaned scripts or the like... Dragonheart27
Ok, I did a clean re-install, nothing has been changed whatsoever, except the bEnableFileSelection=1 line in the .ini file to enable the data files option, but it crashes as soon the loading screen finishes.
Edited April 24, 2013 by Dragonheart27
Georgiegril
I'm sorry, I don't understand your post. Did you completely remove all of skyrim (using the steam delete local content thing, then manually removing all the remaining folders including mod folders and savegames)?Reload a new version of Skyrim from steam? Start a new unmodded game using only the Steam Launcher?
Dragonheart27
I did.
Dragonheart27
I found that one of my .ini files was wrong, and it's working now. I'm adding my mods one by one to root out any bad ones now.
