Azakiel
To be honest, I would suggest using Wrye Bash rather than either of the two mod managers you have mentioned.
Veriza
I like NMM if I only want to install a few mods on a new install(under40ESP's or so) That being said, If you want to install anything with leveled lists or more then a few mods you are going to want a "bashed patch." This is done through Wyre Bash. I would probably give up modding without Wyre Bash. No experience with OMM. Oh and if you want to try Wrye Bash DO NOT use the latest version. I use 302.1 and I know a lot of Skyrim players that are back at the 295 version. I think the main thing NMM has over WB is it lets you know when there is a mod update. I only worry about updates before a new play through and then I am usually grabbing new mods anyways. Just some other ramblings you didn't really ask about but I typed earlier... I would grab a couple of mods and open them up and poke around in them. Once you learn the file structure and what NMM/OMM/WB are doing with your mods you will have a lot more freedom and ability to fix problems. Always keep a clean copy of your game to resort back to. Sometimes just looking at a clean game will help you locate a problem. I have found that problems are RARELY caused by the mod author, it's almost always my mistake in some way. ~Vei
Lanceor
Personal opinion...1. Wrye Bash2. NMM3. OBMM Wrye Bash is the least intuitive of the three and you'll need to exercise the grey matter a little to learn to use it. But once you've learned it, you'll never trust another mod manager again. Bonus: It works in exactly the same way for Skyrim. NMM was built up from the lessons learned from other mod managers (especially OBMM). It's supposed to support OMODs, but I never use OMODs so I can't say. It has the advantage of being closely linked to Nexus, which I presume is your most used mod download site. Even if you don't organise your mods with it, it's a dandy download manager. :) OBMM allows you to create OMOD files out of regular compressed archives. Again, I don't use OMODs, so I can't really comment here.
shinobi2008
Like the previous posters said, learn to use Wrye Bash. It is more than a mod manager. There's a pictorial guide here on Nexus if you need help getting started. As for the second question, there's no such thing as completed modded pack available AFAIK. However there's FCOM which is a huge patch that allows to use the most popular overhauls together. There's also Unique Landscape compilation that changes each region a unique look. There are tons of texture packs out there created by different modders. You can use them all overwriting each one as you go or just choose one pack. It's up to you. Maskar
My preference by far goes to OBMM. NMM isn't compatible with OBMM scripts, so by definition isn't an option imo. I personally have no use for Wrye Bash, but it does have some advantages over the other mod managers (make old mods work together easier). It also removes leveled lists it shouldn't, but that's another story, heh.
thunderlord2200
i was thinking of using 2 Mod managers. like nmm for the simple things and the 1s using the OBMM for its scripts. OR try to find a full mod pack and just load them in manully
Oromish
Use obmm for mods packaged for it, and wrye bash for the rest. You can find 302.1 here. Edited April 29, 2013 by Oromish
