Any body mesh/texture replacing is ignored by the Game Pass version of SkyrimSE

The Game Pass version of Skyrim SE allows access to the data folder (plus Bethesda.net), so for the most part modding works fine (with the exception of SKSE and anything that relies on SKSE).

But any mod that replaces body meshes is simply ignored. Tried even placing broken files with the name of body part meshes or textures to see if it would crash the game, but it just completely ignores it.

I also noticed that Bethesda.net has zero body mesh mods for PC (though there are some for xbox).

I suspect that the Game Pass version will have the same restrictions as Xbox. Possibly because one might be able to use cloud saving and play the game on either PC or Xbox. To that end, you might need to create a dummy ESP to load a BSA packed with the textures and meshes you wish to use.

Oh, that might be it, I'll try to do that later. Thanks for the idea.

I have seen this issue as well - And I tried to create a bsa file and had issues with Skyrim starting (the the new bsa files caused the hanging at start up) . This was with the CBBE files - Need to see if I can get it to work with by using a never nude form. I also tried to side load a naughty mod - one that had some fade to black sexual content (Prostitutes of Skyrim - Pauderek's Version SE at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community)- just to see if they would catch it - and it did. This mod is fully packed so that it is not the standing file content.

I am going to assume they use file names and file hashes for detections.
