cbomber98 Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Hello, I have recently come into a problem that I cannot figure out. It's fairly easy to explain, so I'll keep this short, but I just down know how to fix it. Whenever I swing whatever melee weapon I am using it still has the normal sound, but there is also this weird rumbling. It sounds a little bit like a repeating swish noise, but I can't really tell what it is. This noise starts and stops with the attack animation like any other sound, too. I would like for someone to help me with this issue. Thanks.
JackLamont Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I ran into this exact same issue earlier today, looked around, and found something that cleared it up quite easily. Duke Patricks Basic Script Silencer. http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/15677 Give it a shot, it's worked for me, so it will probably work for you.
discovery1 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 i had a similar problem with a rumbling sound every time an enemy npc was within range. It turned out to be a mod (yet to find which one) which had some sort of conflict.I sorted it out with the unnoficial patch option to change the "area detect spell" sound setting. If memory serves..there are five options, and I know one of them worked. If you have the unnoficial patch, the options are in your inventory.
cbomber98 Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 I downloaded that mod and the problem appears to be gone. Thanks for the help!

Even the URL scheme has changed since then. But for what it's worth, here's the corrected link to the mod mentioned above, just fixed the pathing: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/15677
