MadTod
Can anybody tell me how to remove an .esm or .esp from a mod, I've been working on a mod for months now and earlier I noticed it required and additional .esp, probably because it hadn't been unticked by mistake, I tried reverting to a backup but they too have the other .esp in it, I don't want any other .esp or .esm in my mod because I will be uploading it to Nexus when it is finished and if it requies no additional plugins then everybody can download it not just those with DLC. Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks.
MalachiDelacot
In the GECK, open your mod file like you are going to work on it. "Data" box should open. On the right side, below where it says "Parent Masters",should be "Filename". HIghlight the esp you want removed, press "alt" and "delete". That should take care of it. MadTod
Thanks, although weirdly the .esp (which was the CaravanPack) has dissappeared, but I'll keep in mind of how to remove it if it pops in again so thanks, I've worked too hard on this to start over. MalachiDelacot
You're most welcome. There's an old saying I really like: "It's easy when you know how"....
luthienanarion
You can prevent the game and the GECK from auto-selecting the DLC masters by deleting the .NAM files associated with them in your Data directory. They serve no other purpose than to force selection.
natmaac
Not only is this thread over 10 years old.. it solved two problems for me. The second one I wasn't even after a solution for, but it has bugged me for years! The Fallout 3 GECK never pre-selected .esp files on load and I figured NV GECK did it because of some preference I couldn't find in the .ini files! Damn. nam files!!
