Tannin42
Do you get an error message early saying Vortex has been corrupted? If so, reinstall Vortex. You could try updating your visual c runtime from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0(this is an official microsoft download that - no - I can't think of a reason MS doesn't just include this in windows) If this fixes it, please let us know. If it doesn't, you could try starting Vortex as admin. Don't use it, just check if it starts up correctly. If so the problem is probably with some foreign application globally injecting itself into the PATH environment and thereby changing what libraries Vortex gets to load. UncleDuckjob
I had the same issue and this fixed it for me as well! To anyone stumbling upon this post through Google who might be having the same issue, it was fixed by downloading the redistributable packages for Visual Studio found here. I chose x64 because I have a 64 bit version of windows. If you need to know what version of Windows you have, you can do so this way:Select the Start button > Settings > System > About . Open About settings.Under Device specifications > System type, see if you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows.Under Windows specifications, check which edition and version of Windows your device is running.
