greta2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I have a dv6 laptop and the battery has Striked for several days. Now I consider to replace the battery with a new one. There are two sections for me including original battery and 3rd party battery. What kind of the battery should i choose? My friend recommened me a 3rd party website http://www.batteryselling.com/hp-pavilion-dv6-battery-6-cell-5200mah-11-1v.html, is it reliable? It seems that the latter will be cheaper within my budget, however, i am worried about it will come with poor quality, what's more, whether they have a warranty as the oringinal batteries?Any one can give me a detail answer?I am looking forward to your replies...
Illiad86 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Some 3rd party batteries have warranties. I've never personally bought one though. I have bought 3rd party A/C adapters for laptops and they are just as good as the manufactures and a heck of a lot cheaper. But with batteries, I don't think 3rd party would be a good idea. They probably don't last as long or keep a charge as well as the manufacturers. But they are cheap. I remember a battery for my laptop was somewhere around $80 and a 3rd party was half of that...but the reviews on it were a bit bad. If it's a common laptop, check on amazon to find a 3rd party replacement and read the reviews.
